I also keep receiving an “Network Error” message each time I try.. anyone got any suggestions?
To those who are getting "Network Error", I think that is caused by choosing a name that already exists. The app appears to have a bug that causes it to show "Network Error" whenever the name you are trying to select has already been used.
I was experiencing the same "Network Error" until I finally added more numbers to the end of my name in order to try to ensure it was unique. After making my username more complex, it submitted successfully with no problem.
If my theory is right, this means that the developers for the FitBit app (iPhone, in my case) need to fix that bug so that the correct error message is displayed upon trying to submit a taken username.
