By mistake, I logged today's run as a walk. How do I update the activity log to change this? Messing with my stride length as a walk.

Hi,
I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I discovered something this morning while playing around with connected GPS. Open the dashboard on your fitbit app. If you click on the pentagon icon for days of weekly exercise, it will pull up a list of your workouts. Click on the right-facing arrow next to the workout you want to change. At the top of the screen you'll see your stats, and below that is the line "categorize exercise". Click on the right-facing arrow again, and you can change from run to walk - or whatever activity type you desire.
Hope this helps.

Nice to see you here @Kamelone! At the moment you can't edit a manually logged activity. What you can do is to delete your activity and log it again with the correct information. To delete the activity, go to Fitbit.com/activities and click the trash can icon on the manual activity you want to delete.
I hope this helps, keep me posted! 😉

You guys should really change this feature. It's a pain to redo something manually, especially if you've tracked it.

Well, this doesn't do the trick as I then loose vital GPS info... Other trackers does not seem to have a problem letting the user change the type of exercise after it's done (or even in the middle of the tracking), so why is it so difficult for Fitbit?

Thank you for trying to help.
Unfortunately, this does not work for GPS tracked exercises, for some reason 😔

Kamelone:
Was this app update only for Apple or something? My android app shows me my "runs" which were actually bike rides and shows the stats, but does not allow me to change the activity type by except by logging a previous activity, using the same time and duration and distance from the GPS enabled (Run, Walk, Hike) activity. When manually starting an activity, the only choices are walk, run or hike. Can we edit this to add additional choices? It is silly and a waste of time to have to manually duplicate what the app just recorded, simply to give it a corrected activity label......

I've found the 'post-exercise' change type feature which is handy. But I'd prefer to set the default to run, as I only track runs. Is that possible?

Maybe I'm blind, I do not see a pentagon on my dashboard. Is that a premium feature? I wanted to check it out to see if I can set my default activity start to Run. Even my grand kids know me as "Run Grandpa Run" [To the sound of, as in from Forest Gump's "Run Forest Run"].

For me and my android and Windows 10 devices, the exercise portion of the dashboard starts out just being a rectangle and fills in each exercise with another facet of a diamond. I hope this helps.

Wow, it took me 30 minutes to figure this out. Today I accidentally logged my weights/workout as a "walk". I couldn't find ANY option to change the exercise type via the FitBit app on my Android phone, or via the FitBit website.
Don't ask me why I thought of this, but I downloaded the fitbit app for Windows 10 through the Windows 10 store. The Windows 10 app actually had more available options than the Android app and the website itself, which makes no sense!
Screenshot of the option to change the type of exercise below (red arrow pointing to pencil icon):
Why in the world are these options not available on the website or phone app? Oh well, at least I figured it out!

Thanks so much for this tip! Just recorded a 22 mile cycle ride as a run and didn't want to lose my GPS data by deleting it and manually adding it, so have spent ages trying to find a way to do this. What a pain though, why is it so difficult to change the exercise type any other way?

Create a Strava sccacco and link it with your Fitbit. Shortly after each ride, all the data imports into Strava where you can edit the type of exercise. Fitbit is run by **ahem**s who don't care about this. Read years of complaints to Fitbit about this issue.

My question is the same. I run intervals - maybe 5 minutes running, 5 minutes walking. If Fitbit counts them as separate activities, then I don't get a workout profile over my 40 minute workout. They're separate activities that don't meet the 10-minute threshold. I'd like to delete RUN as an activity so that any running I do is counted as WALK. Is there a way to do this?

This is the only thing that worked for my Charge 4 SE. Downloaded the app on my laptop. Switched weights to run. So crazy not on the regular fb app. Thank you!
