How do I delete old notifications?

Everyday I get notifications telling me that either I need a certain amount of steps to reach my goal, or that I'm an over achiever with so many steps above my daily goal.  That's great, however I now have 198 notifications showing.  How can I delete all these older ones?  Thanks!

@Glaciertrekk  @Bobmarybart  @Joe_Cool_56  @Mjford1   I am an iOS user.  I discovered that I could delete these old Messages and Notifications by doing a left swipe.  All of a sudden, I found a Delete option.  All gone!

Thanks. My friend and I have been trying to figure it out and didn't realize they were only 30 days worth. We are both running out of space on our iPhones and wanted to clear space.

These notifications are only stored in the apps cache, si clearing the cache will remove them temporarily.

They however are stired on fitbits server, so the next time you go to this page in the app, they will show back up as the app does a refresh.

They definitely stay longer than 30 days.  Mine have not dropped since March 7.

It's almost May now.

I have notifications from 2/28 on my Alta.   That's almost 60 days.

I've read the "they fall off after 30 days," and like many other responders, must tell you, I have notifications going back to 2/28/17, which is a full 60 days. I wonder if the system is set for 60 days, rather than 30, and if so, if the powers that be, could change it to a 30-day, or even a 10-day fall automatic deletion, as they take up space I'd rather use for other aspects of the program.

Tried everything said but still have notifications from February. Help trying to free up space

@carolsau  Are you talking about the in app notifications?  If so, unfortunately there is not a way to delete them off from inside of the app.

One thing you can do is go to https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/notifications and turn off what notifications you do not want.  This can help reduce the number you receive going forward.

Maybe that will help~

It's been said that notifications drop off after 30 days. My earliest is dated February 2017. Going to try to get a definitive answer from company.

I'm referring to the affirming notifications in the "Notifications" section opened by the Notifications icon in the lower left corner of the screen.

Sorry @Photogjim this is your first post in this thread.

To lake things easier I'll move your post to the thread your responding to.

If your really refferring to the notifacations open by the .... my head is spinning and i have no idea what screen your refferring to.

The 30 day deletion your refferring to is the messages found in the comunity section of the app. This also happens to be the subject of this thread.

@carolsau It's nice to have you on board! Like @Kmransom123 said you can't delete the notifications but they should disappear after 30 days (cheers, taunts and messages from friends). If you still see notifications older than 30 days then please log out from the app, restart your phone and then log back in.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi, @carolsau, have you tried logging out of your Fitbit app (don't just close it, actually log out.  You will find that option at the bottom of the "account" page.

That should delete your old notifications.

Let us know if this helps.
