I’ve just replaced my blaze with a charge 4. Previously I could set alarms on the Fitbit app. I can’t see any way to do that now with my charge 4 - the Fitbit help says click profile picture, click device, select silent alarms. But silent alarms isn’t there. Any ideas? (I have set them on the screen of the charge 4 but it would be easier through the app)

You can only set the alarms on the Charge 4 I'm afraid. Setting them via the app is not currently an option. See: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1868/?

I just got my new charge 4 today and am trying to set an alarm on my device but can’t find that anywhere. When I go into the app, it says alarms are installed, but no matter what I press or which way I scroll, I can’t find the alarms on my device. Fitbit definitely should have left this capability on the app like it was for the inspire HR. Can you help me to locate the missing alarms app on my device or give any other guidance to set silent alarms? Thanks!
Please enable setting silent alarms for the Charge 4 in the app. I previously had the inspire HR, and it was so easy to do, but that device stopped working after a month, so I replaced it with the Charge 4, which I picked up today. Unfortunately, I can’t get the alarms to work on my new device, and setting that seems like it will be a lot more cumbersome. Please add the silent alarm setting feature to the app itself for the Charge 4!

Hi @Lisamarie23,
I created a video showing how to set up Fitbit Charge 4 alarms on the device. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/GA-a-mbzn84

I find it outrageous that the silent alarms feature was removed from the Fitbit app for the Charge 4. Setting And managing them on the device is not very convenient, especially when you have multiple. This needs to be put back. I probably would have stuck with my 3 If the screen hadn’t died. Why remove a feature that worked fine?

I find it ridiculous too. I had a blaze (which works fine, I only bought a charge 4 as I wanted the GPS without my phone) and was able to set multiple alarms easily on my phone or tablet. I also find I can’t see the screen of the Charge when in bright sunlight. I’ve returned it and am getting a Garmin instead - my husband and daughter use them, and the app and visibility in the sun are far far superior. I’ve been a Fitbit user since the Fitbit one (the charge was my 4th) but I think my time is done with Fitbit now.

Excellent - did not expect to have to see the alarm on the Fitbit itself, since both my previous versions used the app to set the alarm. Perfect explanation in the video, thank you!

I agree. Fitbit plz enable silent alarm in the app dashboard. So much easier from here. For charge 4. My charge 2 had it....why take away

I think it is horrible that the alarms have been removed from the phone Fitbit app. It is has become much more difficult now to set multiple alarms while on the go, especially in the daylight. I’m am seriously rethinking this purchase. Bring back the app feature for setting alarms!!!

I’m with you.
How do they possibly arrive at that decision 🙄

This is absolutely ridiculous. Are they trying to make it LESS user friendly? Who made this decision? They need to change it back. The silent alarm is a great feature of the Fitbit, but changing it on the device is way more time consuming and seems less reliable.

Eyes not what they use to be...I like using app because i have various alarms. Please make it availablefor the app!

Just noticed it but it seems to be a very stupid decision to remove a function like that...

Will be returning my charge 4. I am vision impaired and it is just impossible to set the alarms on the device; the silent alarms are The best feature, and I will be looking for a device that is more user friendly so I can have this feature back. Super disappointed as I.ve been a fitbit user from day 1, and this is (was) my 5th fitbit device

What on earth possessed Fitbit to remove the silent alarm function from the app? This is a key feature as far as I'm concerned and it's real pain in the neck to set on the gadget. Please put this back on the app!!

@Rickle I think one of the reasons they made the change is that lots of people were upset that they could not set an alarm without syncing it from the app - and that required an internet connection. By moving the alarm setting to the device this problem was avoided. It would have been better still if they had retained the ability to set the alarm in the app as well as on the device.

Thanks for the explanation, @SteveH.
It's annoying though. I'd rather do as little as possible on the fitbit itself!

This is so sad. I want to say something constructive or supportive here but I cannot. I just tried the on device feature of Charge 4 vs.the in App function in the Charge 2. It took me 21 steps to program a single alarm that repeats on monday, wednesday, friday. Becuase I use alarms at different times of day as reminders and have to medication reminders each day, it just took me 93 steps to set these up and it's near impossible to use as reminders on a day to day basis. I am so sad that a company like fitbit with very loyal customers would do this as it is sure to erode it's installed base.
I will not be using the Charge 4 until this is resolved BUT I need to know ONE THIS from this support community. WHICH DEVICES with GPS capability support the in App Alarm Function? In summary I will upgrade or downgrade to a new device that has In App alarm management AND GPS. I want to stay with FitBit but have to have this. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP.
@SteveH - do you know which fitbits models still allow you to set alarms in the App? (vs. just on the device). It's a critical function for me to redo medication alarms. Thanks for being such an active moderator.

@ItsBWD I found this in one of the help articles:
"For Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Charge 4, Fitbit Sense, Fitbit Ionic, and Fitbit Versa series, set alarms on your device...For all other Fitbit devices, set alarms in the Fitbit app"
Taken from: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1868.htm
By the way, I'm not a moderator, just a fellow community member trying to help out.

I just got the charge 4, and don’t understand why things are just going backwards with Fitbit. I can no longer conveniently set alarms on my Fitbit something I relied on constantly. Why would you take this easy way out of the Fitbit dashboard? Trying to do anything on that tiny screen requires a magnifying glass, and more often then not fails. Is it really so hard for you to make things easy for your customers? I have used the alarms for years now, and can no longer get them set or even see to get them set in the micro tiny print .
--------------------------------------------------
So to pander to the people that don’t want to sync their device they make it impossible to the many that can’t see well enough to accomplish this on the tiny screen with micro print? I can no longer use the alarms because I can’t get them set, even with a magnifying glass it is iffy
