Hi 🙂
I’ve tried searching and searching for answers online, but I can’t seem to figure out what’s going on with my charge 3.
A friend gave me the watch and I’ve worn it for a few months now. I mistakenly thought that I had to log exercise after I had completed it, and had been going into the exercise are to log my workouts. I noticed that it seemed to remove calories and steps and wasn’t recording properly, through searching on here I saw that I was meant to be actually starting tracking from the moment I began exercising.
when I go in to track and exercise, it only offers the option to chose a run / walk or hike, I can’t seem to find how to add in more options. I didn’t notice initially as I’ve just been going on walks this past week or so.
Am I meant to be using the tracking part or am I meant to be using the logging section and changing the start time to the time now rather than logging in the past? In the log, there is a wide range of exercises to chose from.
Tonight I did an hours really hard hiit style exercise and whilst I’m aware the charge 3 doesn’t recognise hiit (I’ve called it circuit training when logging retrospectively) it only picked up 24 minutes itself automatically and called it aerobics. It doesn’t matter too much about the description, I was just hoping there was a way to begin tracking manually so that it was more accurate.
please help 🙏🏻
thank you so much
jo

Hello @Makeupjo, welcome to the Community Forums. We apologize for the late response, due to recent events affecting our operations, we're taking longer to respond.
I'm sorry to hear that your data was gone after you edited the activity. I'm here to help you. Thanks for taking the time to search in the forums the answer to your question. Nice way to go!
Typically, your data will be recalculated if you manually log an activity as the manually logged activity takes precedence over the data tracked while wearing your tracker at that point in time. For example, if you're wearing your Charge 3 and walking and you reached 10,000 steps, then you go to the Fitbit app and manually log an activity that starts and ends at that point in time for say 1 hour, Fitbit will calculate how many steps you took and it may bring my step count to something below 10,000 steps. So, we recommended to manually log activities if you forgot to wear your tracker. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
On the other hand, if you want to turn off/on SmartTrack (the auto-recognition), please follow the steps provided here: Can I change how my activities are tracked?
Also, note that you can manually start an exercise directly from your Charge 3. If you're only given run/walk/or hike, add more exercises to your list. To do so, see: Can I reorder the exercise shortcuts on my Fitbit device?
Hope this helps you, let me know if you need further assistance.
