How do I track swim with the Charge 3?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just received my Charge 3 this week. First of all my heart rate was all over the place but although it is still wrong it seems to measure a bit better now, contacted support but no reply.

The main reason I purchased it was for swimming. I swim 6 days a week usually between 1500 and 2000m each day. First day I wore it I thought it would auto detect, but apparently not, I did 2k and it didn't even show I had a swim!

Day 2, I enabled the swim app and set it running. I did 1600m (1 UK mile). It detected I did 500m. 20 lengths. I get no indication on the Fitbit of how many lengths I've done when in the pool just a message to check the app. There doesn't appear to be a stoke count. I could go on.

The data for calorie burn appears to come from a random number generator for swim data. So if anyone has found the magic sequence to go through to get it to record swim data correctly could you let me know?

Thanks

Bill

A warm welcome to the Community @bilmori.

Thanks for troubleshooting this swim issue by yourself. Regarding the heart rate problem, I recommend taking a look at this post, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

Now the swim, my recommendation is to track this activity by selecting it directly from your Charge 3. For more information about how you can track this exercise, I suggest taking a look at the help article How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device?.

Many thanks for your suggestions.

I did find that going straight to the Swim app on the charge 3 was the best way.

So far it usually records the correct number of lengths +/- 1 or 2.

The only downside is that there is no real time display of the length count.

Not only did the Charge 3 not track my swim, it showed I only had 8 active minutes yesterday. Yet I swam laps for a little more than 45 minutes! This is going to be pretty useless for me unless I can figure out how to fix this issue.

I clicked the link suggested on another post and the link is not available. I purchased the charge 3 for the added advantage of tracking my swim. How do i do this? I selected swim on charge 3, the timer started. Then i could not stop the timer and i still have no idea on the result of swim. I have only had it 3 days so any help would be appreciated
