Ever since the latest firmware update, my Charge HR has been logging highly inaccurate floor counts. According to the tracker, so far today I've climbed 7 floors while in reality I haven't climbed any. Yesterday, my tracker logged several floors while I was sleeping. I understand that the altimeter may cause floors to be inaccurately tracked, but things seem to have changed since the last update.
Also, manually logging a "driving" activity erases step counts, but does not modify floor counts.

That's mysterious @SunsetRunner
Feel free restarting the tracker:
Restart the tracker
URL: Click / Tap to open the Fitbit Help Article 'How do I restart the tracker?'
Hope it helps

Reboot it seems to be a common theme with these trackers. Unfortunately, I've tried that and it had no effect.

The same for me. Hopeless at counting floors - Charge HR -
It was all fairly good until just a few days ago... Hopeless now
It seems that all the answers are 'restart' and/or 'the 10 foot rule' and/or 'the hill/incline rule', and perhaps it works for some. But maybe its time to abondon counting floors until the technology works.

Having the same issues with mine. Tracking says that I climbed 97 floors when in actuality it's only been 3 or 4. What's the issue with this? Is it just since the update?

My Fitbit has given up on counting floors accurately.
I've tried the solutions found, like jumping or lifting my arm at the top, but nothing seems to work.
?
I've rebooted. What else can I try?

I look as the floor count as more of a motivational tool to encourage floor climbing rather than anything that accurately registers the number of floors climbed. Regard it as something fun and an additional metric I like it but there are many people who disable it because its just not accurate. I also have a Garmin Vivosmart which also counts floors. My fitbit overcounts floors and the Vivosmart has a tendency to undercount.
Counting floors based on the use of an altimeter to record elevation change is something that is hard to get accurate.
