Inconsistant calorie calculation

Something is wrong in the way calories is calculated on my Fitbit Charge 2 if I can have a day doing absolutely nothing, to a day I do a walk for 76 mins, for 8.44km, 35 stairs an extra 4,000 steps and only come up with 80 extra calories ...i understand there are other factors such as BMR heart rate, but I’m the same person with same BMR and unless my heart was really racing on my restful day how can there be that much  discrepancy.  Fitbit is making out as if it isn’t worth going out for a long 1 hours walk as it gains me nothing.

Let me help you with your caloric burn calculation. This is odd. Where are you viewing this data? How are your recording your activities? If you are using the app, log out, restart your phone and log back in. Also check your personal information (age, height, weight, etc.). I also suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.

The problem with your suggestion, is that it is recording my calories incorrectly all the time, but it is the fact that I can do 4-5,000 calories more one day and the calorie count is still not much different.  It is no use checking my personal information as this does not change from day to day.  My problem is that it s inconsistant with the recording of my calories.  It happened again this week.  

Steps 7,717        floors 12      Km 5.4     Exercise mins 14       Calories 1842

Steps  12,778     Floors 31      Km 9.12   exercise  mins  47    Calories 1872

 

so you can see, I gained a whopping 30 calories for doing extra 5,000 steps 19 floors, 4km and 33 minutes of exercise 

 

I re sync my Fitbit constantly as it seems to have lots of other issues as well
