Incorrect distance logged

Seems there is still an issue with incorrect distance logged, even though it has been reported and claimed fixed many months ago.

I biked this morning and it shows up as 1,75km in the fitbit app, this is a known track for me that is 4,1km.

It shows up correctly on the map so didn't loose connection with the phone/GPS it seem.

Charge 2 with firmware version 22.55.2.

iPhone 6 running the Fitbit app v2.84 (iOS 12.1.1)

Please look into this issue.

@salle Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry to hear that the Connected GPS shows the incorrect distance. This issue is still being investigated by our team and no definite resolution has been provided so I can only ask for your patience while this is resolved.

Let me know how it goes!

Glad to hear that it's being investigated, thanks!

I have some new information on the subject that might help you debug this; took the same bike route this morning and this time it was logged as 3,98 km (which seems a little bit too short, but definitely in the ballpark).

A few things was different:

  • Last time I started the exercise as "Run" on the Charge 2 and then change the category to Bike in the iPhone app. This time I selected Bike on the Charge 2 right away.
  • When starting the exercise on the Charge 2 I was instructed to check the mobile app, so started the fitbit app on my iPhone, then got informed on the Charge 2 screen that it was connected.
  • I paused the exercise using the physical button on the Charge 2 when stopping two times during the bike route (don't think I did this the first time).

Like I said, this was the same route as the first time when it incorrectly logged 1,75 km. The map of the two exercises in the fitbit app also display almost identical tracks.

The average speed on the second exercise was also higher (more realistic) than the first one that was only 5,9 kph.
