Is there a way to get more information on heart rate? There is the graph that shows the fluctuations through the day but I don’t see any actual numbers. Where exactly was it at while I was exercising? There is also the resting rate but more data would be helpful, like average heart rate. Is the information there somewhere or does it not exist?

Using the Exercise App on the Charge 4, you can record anything as a workout. You could say you are starting a workout, watch TV for 30 minutes, stop it, and it will be recorded as whatever type workout you called it, and you can look at heart rate chart for that time.
Also if you look at the fitbit.com dashboard on a PC screen, you can see the day's heart rate chart easier to see more detail on a bigger screen than on phone.

To see your heart rate while exercising, on phone app click the days of exercise tile, the a specific workout to see heart rate info, graph, average, and max heart rate during the workout.
To me, average heart rate for the day is meaningless. I don't know if you would want it to be high, reflecting exercise time, or low reflecting low resting heart rate.

So I can only access it if I record an actual workout? I can’t see my max heart rate, say, while I was doing physical work of some kind that isn’t technically “exercise”?
I would like average because I would like to know if my heart rate is on the higher end while just going through an ordinary day. Resting heart rate only gives me the low end of that range.

Thanks for your answer. It would be nice to see my heart rate without having to set it up specifically. There are times when I do stuff that isn’t exactly scheduled. But it is what it is.

I can suggest to use an app called Cardiogram. Cardiogram can sync seamlessly with Fitbit and can give you granular analysis of all HR data recorded by Fitbit. Even the free membership is really useful.
