Multiple broken straps

I have had my Fitbit since Feb 2017 and in that time I have had to replace 4 straps. I recently contacted Fitbit as my last replacement strap has only lasted 6 months,  despite no visible signs of wear and tear or damage it no longer attached to the main Fitbit body. My previous straps developed bubbles at the join and eventually came loose or just snapped out of the blue. I don't get the strap wet and look after it as per Fitbits instructions. I have asked for a replacement strap, but as the Fitbit itself is out of warranty I have been told that I am not entitled to a replacement strap. Surely the strap itself should be under some kind of warranty if it is not physically damaged? I am really disappointed with this service and am unwilling to pay for another strap that I know won't last. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Have you tried an inexpensive, 3rd party strap from Amazon. Perhaps the material will last longer.

I'm having the same issue. I bought my Charge 2 last year in April, 2018. I never got it wet and always kept it in good condition. I actually stopped wearing it for 9 months, put it in a drawer and now just recently started wearing it again. Now all of a sudden, one side of the band keeps unlatching. When I try to snap it back into place, it keeps slipping out - it's like it doesn't latch. I reached out to FitBit Support and they told me they wouldn't replace it since i'm outside of my warranty. This is the second FitBit I've bought. My first one had issues with charging and syncing and now this one having issues with the wristband. I was very happy with my Charge 2 until now. FitBit Support said this product is made to last, but I've seen other threads on this board with others experiencing this same wristband issue, so apparently i'm not the only one. I'm a very unhappy customer. This will be the last FitBit I purchase.

I contacted Fitbit again regarding the poor quality of their straps and received the following reply:-

‘ We'd like to share with you that we based our warranty from the purchased date of the original device. The replacement band will not refresh the eligibility for a replacement.

On the other hand, Fitbit products were tested in accordance with industry standards. They are made to last depending on its usage and environment. However, due to some factors that are beyond human control, materials that these Fitbit devices are made of also reach its limitations.

We know that this hinders you from achieving a holistic Fitbit experience which is why we're constantly working to deliver product materials and designs that meet our stringent testing standards and consumer needs.

Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. ‘

If the materials that they use cannot even withstand being worn on a wrist during everyday walking then they really need to look at the quality of their product. They are obviously not ‘ made to last’ at all. This has really put me off Fitbit and I will be looking at other products in future.

Have you tried one of me metal straps on Amazon. Less than 10USD.

I had to replace mine for the same reason, the metal clip kept coming loose and my fitbit would fall off my arm, I bought an inexpensive lookalike off Amazon and only fitted one half and to be honest I can't really tell the difference from the original.

Both my sister and I have cracked screens and bands which constantly fall off. I hold mine on with an elastic band. I’ve already purchased two new bands. I love the Charge 3 but won’t buy another unless the bands are changed to something which lasts.
