Previously, this never happened at all.
Then, it happened occasionally.
Now, for the past few months, it happens almost every single time I try to track an activity. Even if the app has just been opened and synced mere seconds prior, and is still open on the screen, it still usually happens.
To make it even worse, lately it doesn't happen immediately - The Fitbit will behave normally for the first few seconds, making you think it's one of the rare occasions it actually functions correctly, so you pull your sleeve down and go about your sweating, only to discover mid-activity, or even better, when you've finished, that it wants you to check the app, so you end up without GPS data etc.
Why? Wouldn't it be better if it actually worked? Do any of the current Fitbits actually work? If so, wow, fancy.

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, @SunsetRunner.
I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Charge 2. Thank you for the time you spent trying to get them resolved.
I would recommend turning off location services and turn them back on.
In addition, you can set up your Charge 2 as a new device:
Hope this helps.
