My Charge 3 is initiating activities without my input

My Charge 3 seems to have a healthy fantasy life. Earlier this week it initiated a Run which continued without my knowledge for over 40 hours. It is also reporting that I gained 2700 feet in elevation during this run. When I look at the GPS map it was doing a good job of keeping track of the errands that I ran (driving) on Tuesday. I am 74 and regrettably too overweight to run and there's not 2700 feet of elevation anywhere near me. I had taken walks during the imaginary run and they were initially recorded but erased as soon as the tracker decided to terminate the run to nowhere. Now the imaginary run refuses to be deleted.  This is the second time in the past couple of months that this has happened. A few weeks ago it was also recording outrageous numbers of steps and flights of stairs while I was asleep, Could someone tell me how to prevent this or could someone recommend a tracker that doesn't do this?
