My charge 2 will show me who has txt me but no longer actually showing the message. I have samsung S9 and I dont know why it's been doing this for 2 weeks. I have checked all the setting in the phone and the fitbit app but nothing is working for me.
They gave me the same answer so now I have taken to Twitter to bug them about an update. Sad I am going to have to spend $80 to get a different watch over this one feature which they appear not to be in a hurry to resolve.
So this issue has been going on for well over a month. Where are we with a fix? This is absolutely ridiculous that one of the key draws of this device can be out of commission for so long.
I have the same problem. I can view who the text is from, but cannot read the message. This started long before the recent update. I have a Galaxy Note 8 and it was working fine until about a month ago. PLEASE FIX!!!
It appears, based on comments from support, they have no intention to resolve this issue. I have since switches to Samsung gear fit 2 I found used in eBay for $40 and have been impressed with it.
I contacted FitBit Support through Twitter again yesterday, and got another non-answer:
"Our engineering team is still working on this for you to get back on track as soon as possible. We cannot give you specific time frame as we do not want to give false expectation. Please let us know if there's anything we may do to assist you in the meantime."
Thank you for letting me know what they said. Sadly, this is the same response I received the three times support actually took the time to work on the issue. As I stated before there is no urgency on their party to resolve the issue as this has been going on for over a month.
Same issue (shows sender only), Charge 2, Samsung S9, using Samsung messages app. However, it will work (e.g. show sender and message) if I change to the Verizon message+ app.
Edit: The fitbit app update pushed out 9/4/19 fixed the issue for me.
Hi sorry I dont understand what you meant by changing to Verizon message + app? Is this what you would reccomend as I'm also samsung s9 xSent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
The Fitbit issue appears to be related to how the fitbit app talks with the phones text messaging app. I was using Samsung's default messaging app when fitbit lost the ability to send a text message from the phone to the Charge 2 fitbit device. So I tried changing the phone's default texting app to the one Verizon provides ( called message+). I also set the fitbit notifications to use message+ as the texting app from which to read the texts.
So basically, the work around is to try a different text messaging app on the phone while letting the fitbit app also know about the change.
