My Charge 4, purchased in June 2020, broke where the band meets the tracker. The band is intact, but the piece on the tracker that attaches to the band has come loose and is on the verge of coming off. The band itself is fine but will soon be unable to attach to the tracker itself. My partners charge four has done the same in the past two weeks - he is in a position where he has bought the charge 5 but I'm not able to purchase a new one currently and love my charge 4!
I don't want to be without my Fitbit for who knows how long. I am frustrated as this is a defective issue and I will likely have to just buy a new one - seems good timing on fitbits part that they're all failing around the release of the new charge 5! I use it daily and rely on it in work - working within the community for the NHS means its vital I keep track of time and reminders to move/drink etc! Please help!
Does anyone have some suggestions?

You can buy a protective band off Amazon fir
st $13. Fitbit will just give you a discount to buy a new one. Look up Goseth

Hiya,
Thanks for your reply!
I have a cover on the watch at the moment but this only covers the screen and not sure how that would stop the strap part breaking away. Just frustrating as seems to be a problem with the charge 4 for lots of people and I was also pro-fitbit but am going to have to consider going elsewhere!

Jeninej9 these are bands that you slip your tracker in. Not attractive but at least you can use your tracker

This has happened to me 3 times now. Luckily still under Warrenty as it hasn’t been a year since I purchased it. All charge 4s though. Must be a manufacturing error.

The plastic part on my Charge 4 (only 8 1/2 months old) which you attach the strap on has completely snapped off rendering it unusable. I contacted Fitbit which was a challenge in itself and they said ‘no problem we’ll send you a new one’. I was really pleased until it arrived and it is a refurbished unit and I now only have 90 days warranty. I have complained to Fitbit but they have not had the decency to reply. I am sure Apple or Garmin wouldn’t treat their loyal customers this way.
