Quick settings does not open

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I tap on the left button, I am no longer seeing the quick settings menu.

When I tap, it does respond - It does vibrate and start the display but it is not showing up the quick settings menu.

I could not even restart.  When I connected the charger and held the left button for 10 seconds or so, nothing happened.

Is there another way to restart?

@hiten_05 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for sharing the experience you are having with Charge 3 so far. Thanks for trying to restart your tracker.

In order to access the quick settings screen you will need to tap and hold the button on your Charge 3. It should then display these settings.

Regarding the restart, is your tracker connection to the charging cable secure? It should vibrate once connected and you should see a battery icon on your tracker's display. Then, you should tap and hold the button for 8 seconds and you should see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

After a few attempts, I was able to restart and I can see the quick settings now.

The Quick Settings button only works sometimes.  I tried to access it last night to turn off the Quick Wake, but holding the button didn't work.  I have to put the Charge 3 on the charger and restart it.  Really annoying!!!!  What's the point of having something labeled "quick" when it is anything but quick.  Grrrrr.

I have the same issue. The quick settings button worked for the first 5 days but stopped working last night.

When I hold the left button, the Charge 3 vibrates but the screen stays on the watch instead of showing the quick settings. 😞

I have the same issue, do everything moderators said. Can't restart holding the button for 8 seconds, neither can open quick settings. Please give us a valid answer, we paid lot of money for this.

I also have this issue on my brand new charge 3. This seems like a bug of some kind. The quick settings worked for the first few days and then suddenly stopped working. If you press and hold the back button it does a little vibration bzzt bzzt but remains on the main clock face.

I tried turning off notifications and resyncing and turning them back on and resyncing on the Android App thinking  it might push the Fitbit to display the quick settings again but that didn't help.

Resetting by putting the Fitbit on the charger and holding the button down for 8 seconds and letting it reboot seems to have fixed it though. I hope that this issue gets fixed generally and that it's not a widespread bug.

Also seeing this with the latest firmware. Restartee the device and forced a sync as suggested by support, but later in the day, I could not access the quick settings menu.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding the Quick Settings access on your Charge 3. Thanks for sharing all of those details regarding this.

I'd recommend updating your tracker to it's latest version if you haven't done so already.

If after doing that it is still not working please try restarting your Charge 3.

You should be able to access the Quick Settings by pressing and holding the button on your Charge 3.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

This seems to be a reoccurring problem. (I posted earlier above already. See above)

Today I changed fitbit bands (which I don't imagine should have any effect) but in the process I had to hold the tracker in such a way that I kept pressing the back button. After I got the new band installed, the quick settings were broken again as described here.

So I plugged in my tracker and rebooted my tracker. All was well for a few hours.

But then again for no reason that I can see, the quick settings became unavailable again as before. I'm about to reboot my tracker again.

Please ask the developers to make this more stable? Are they working on a bug fix or anything related to this?

It seems like there's some sort of issue related to multiple presses of the back button breaking this feature or something?

Hi @Pennyhero, thanks for getting back!

That seems pretty strange. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot this.  I've gone ahead and create a case on you behalf for Customer Support to continue to further investigate on this. Please keep an eye on the email you used to create your Community Profile, they'll be reaching you shortly.

Let me know how it goes!

My Quick Settings works when it **ahem** well pleases, apparently.  Right now, it chooses not to.  I will have to put the Charge 3 in the charger, and restart in order to see the Quick Settings.  Holding the button for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 seconds does no good at the moment.  Of course, even with Screen Wake off, last night the Charge 3 lit up at least 5 times while on my wrist - when it was not supposed to.  What is going on? Having to put the device in the charger ever day rather defeats the long life of the battery - I bought this so I wouldn't have to worry about such things on a daily basis, but that hasn't happened.

Yes, I know I SHOULD be able to access Quick Settings by holding the button for 3 seconds, but it doesn't work.  I've restarted (what a pain in the neck..) and it works now.  But why should I have to do that every day?  Sort of defeats the purpose of a 7 day battery when I have to plug it in every day to deal with this bug.

Just an update for the sake of others following this post.

@SelmaFitbit opened a support ticket on my behalf, and the folks who replied to that support ticket advised me to try clearing all user data (essentially doing a factory reset of my fitbit) and see if that helps. I am supposed to report back to them if it helps in a few days.

So far it's been about 18 hours since I cleared user data and I haven't (yet) experienced the problem again. Prior to this, it was starting to happen with increasing frequency.

If you want to try this as well, you can find the "clear user data" on your fitbit itself.

  1. First, sync your fitbit so you don't lose your data since your last sync.
  2. Then, from the clock screen, swipe right all the way to "settings".
  3. Then swipe down to "about".
  4. Then swipe down to "clear user data"

It will warn you that it will unpair your device. Proceed. Do the thing. Then try syncing again to get it back and synced up with your phone app. When I did this, it took a little while and a couple tries at syncing again, but eventually it repaired to my phone on its own. I did not need to go through the original fitbit setup process.

I'll report back if this helps fix this issue, but I hope others will do the same so the developers can get more data.

Just experienced this morning after turning off screen wake last night. Has been working for last couple of weeks. Did a reset and it now works. On current update so needs to be identified as a reported bug. Will let you know if this reoccurs.

I just set up my Fitbit Charge 3 today. Love it!

I cannot get into settings to enable Bridge Mode for developing. I've rebooted the Fitbit several times.

When I tap and hold left button down the only options I get are: Screen Wake & Notifications.

I try swiping up, down, left, right and no options options appear. I am at the latest version of the firmware for the Charge 3.

Please help.

Shan

I am having the same problem. Rebooting does not help. Has this bug been addressed yet?  I just bought my charge 3 yesterday and cannot get it to sync today.  I have rebooted it numerous times and cannot get the settings to show up anywhere.

I am experiencing the same issue.  Settings does not show on the device and I am not able to paid with my android device.  my phone sees the charge 3 as an available device but will not pair.  I am running Firmware version: 28.20001.63.5

Can anyone from support help with this?

My Fitbit was no longer showing the clock when I twisted my wrist and the quick settings was no longer at the end when I swiped right.

I had to remove my credit card from my Fitbit wallet so when I held the button it went to quick setting and not unlock my wallet....seems like a pretty big design oversight to have both quick setting and wallet accessed by the same button
