Same walk different readings

I'm very confused; if I set my FB4 to Walk and the next day I set it to Workout and do 'EXACTLY THE SAME WALK in the same time; how come I always get a different Heart Rate and Calorie reading between the two settings?

The Workout consistently logs a higher Heart Rate and Calories.

I'm doing the same intensity, in the same weather at the same time in the same body😶

The heart rate readings, depends on where the tracker is worn, and your measurements. 

The amount of burned calories may vary depending on the activity you choose. 

You won't burn the same amount of calories if you ride a bike for 15 minutes with the same heart rate as if you run the same 15 minutes. 

As you chose different activities to track your walk you may see different amount of calories.

I don't think you've understood the question. As I've said in my post NOTHING is different - other than the chosen setting of Walk v's Workout

@JuanFitbit Can you share where you took the information from? It is common understanding that calories are based only on heart rate, it doesn't matter what you are doing. As such it really shouldn't matter the selected activity.

 

Even more @Morris10 is always walking, she could even choose dancing (as long it is available as activity to track, not sure about it) and calories should be always the same.

I took the information from my FitBit app on my iPhone.

 

Agree, as you say it shouldn't matter the selected activity, but it always shows a lower HR and less calories if I just leave it on 'walk'.

On your trackers and Fitbit Smartwatches, you have the shortcut selection on activities so that you don't have to input the info manually. These activities have taken into consideration the average calorie burnt according to your personal data. As stated before. you won't burn the same amount on calories during 15 minutes walking on a street as 15 minutes hiking on a steep hill or the same 15 minutes on a bike.

I'm not sure we're going to get to the bottom of this.

The is NOT the issue. My question is about doing a 15 minute walk on EXACTLY the same route, time and energy on say a Monday set to WALK and on Tuesday set to WORKOUT and getting very different readings.

Another similar consideration: if I wear my Fitbit for all the day and I never track a session manually but I have a, for example, soccer game how can the tracker estimate the calories burned if I don't input what I'm doing (according to what you said)? Are you saying that a sofisticated device like Fitbit can't figure out the calories burned without important user's input? Those calories are only a rough estimation? This seems consistent to what @Morris10 is experiencing.
