Scar from Fitbit Charge 2

ScarI just wondered if anyone has a scar after a couple of weeks of wearing day and night? I have a mark that has appeared under where the clock face would be (pretty much in line with the lasers that are used to check my heart rate). Has anyone else experienced this? Surely this isn't right?

I cant seem to add a pic, but I've had it off for 3 days and the mark is still very clear and the pigment in my skin has gone.

A bit worried Charge 2 user!

Lasers? Dont think so.

That's quite rude and not helpful. Thought this was a community supporting and trying to help people?

I have a scar on my wrist. Perhaps I should rephrase then... lights. Little green lights. Is that better Mark?

Please in future dont bother commenting if you have nothing nice to say and nothing helpful. You may as well have written 'Gemma your and idiot'.

Knowledge of the product is important. No need to get nasty. Good luck with the scars.

Yes and clearly I don't have that, so I have written in a community asking for help. I don't ever do stuff like this so nice that the first time I do I get mocked for the words I use.

Perhaps in future think before you comment and perhaps you could have written 'Don't worry Gemma they are not lasers burning your skin, just green lights.' Slightly more helpful and not condescending, as is your most recent comment to about 'Product knowledge is important' also making out I'm an idiot with no knowledge.

Wow I'm so glad I reached out for help!!

Hey Gems!

I’m actually having the same issue... I’ve had a scar on the top of my wrist for months now that appeared after the first week I wore my Fitbit Alta.

I have a small pink shiny spot under where my fitbit sits.  It is tende and itchey.  I have moved my fitbit to another area on my arm to see if it will go away.

I have one on my right wrist, i think from the light mixed with some serious heat/humidity we had here last summer.  Started wearing watch on the other wrist and taking it off when i'm sitting down/showering etc to give my skin time to breath.

so far, no issued with the left wrist!

Hey Gems,

I’ve had the same issue and asked my doctor. She said it’s a reaction from the metal dots touching your skin then reacting to moisture (she said most likely sweat) in the same way that a piece of jewelry might leave a green mark. I swap mine every now and then so it’s not as itchy. Even though the mark does look like a scar it should go away. I’m allergic to certain metals also so you might want to check into the possibility that you are slightly allergic as well. Hope that helps some.

I had a weird scar after wearing my fitbit for a full 5 months..

It looks like a burn..

Mine was a thin scarred area and it felt like the skin was fused to the tissue underneath. If I rubbed it it felt like the skin was being torn from the tissue below. I quit wearing it and it’s taken 4 months to finally feel normal and the skin now appears normal. For months, even if I rubbed the skin on the underside of my upper arm, I had that horrible sensation and pain of the skin being pulled away from the tissue below. I suspect it was an adhesion and scar.

I have the Inspire and I have a scar. I noticed the top of my hand was hurting so I took it off and there is almost like 2 or 3 little dot scars on my wrist. Been there a couple days. Since I’ve had the Fitbit off over the weekend the pain in my hand is gone. Weird!

Hi, Gems87 I have had a similar problem too. It hurts when I have it on and it is like an infection in my arm. ( sorry for being dramatic.) Somedays I have to put sudocream on it and then it burns and irritates a tinny bit more. Mine becomes sweaty. I always make sure that you are not wearing it too tight because that could be the reason why.

hope this helps .....
