Check if you are in Sleep Mode, intentionally keeping screen dim.
Press in side button a few seconds; below 'DND' see 'Sleep'; if the moon does not have a line through it, you are in Sleep Mode; tap it to get out of Sleep Mode.

I just fixed the dim display by going to setting on the tracker. Click on display...three choices: Auto, Normal, or Dim. For some reason, mine was set to dim. Setting it on Normal seemed to work.
Good luck 😊

I tried this and it does not work. My fit bit is not in sleep mode.

Never mind. I did it a 3rd time and it worked! Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestions, I have the same dim issue, setting brightness to norma and turning sleep mode off helped, I can see some of the information, however, the left side of the clock face is simply black and missing information and the center is dimmer than the right and middle left. It looks like the LCD? LED, whatever lights the screen is dying...any suggestion on this?

I was able to get to DND Sleep screen but cannot see a moon. My screen is very dim, had to use phone camera, take a pic, to see the screen. The left side is worse; using 10:11 as an example, from the left I can't see the 1, vaguely see 0, can see :1, the last 1 fades. Where is the moon supposed to be? Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. I'm ready to give up and buy an Apple Watch.

That's next to impossible if the screen is too dim to see.

I've ben [sort of] keeping track of this. It seems that every time it's connected to the cradle, the screen resets to 'dim' despite settings in the tracker. Come on, Fitbit folks, put all the configuration options in something more accessible than the tiny Charge 3 screen.

I agree that this is happening to more people since the last firmware upgrade. My screen went dim after the last recharge from the cradle. At my age, it's not an easy fix.I solved this by going to a closet, closing the door, putting on cheater glasses, and waiting about three minutes until my eyes adjusted to the dark. I could now read the screen. Barely. I was then able to go to settings and turned off sleep mode. II would do the same thing if somehow the setting changed from bright to dim.

On a charge 3? Where is that setting? In app? On device?

Thank you! It worked. I have no idea how I got in sleep mode, but I'm out of it now.

On your charge 3. Go into a dark cupboard and you’ll be able to just see the settings.

thanks, I am having the same trouble with screen brightness. Your post confirms my suspicions. Disappointing that I get only 2 years out of the device.
