Will the screen timeout be adjustable in the Charge 4? This feature was one of the two most requested fixes in the Community forum for the Charge 3.

YEA -just when I was thinking of returning my new Charge 4 since the screen went off so much quicker than my Charge 2, I got a software update and now found it - totally fine the battery life is shorter 🙂 I switched it to LONG !!! Version #20001.96.29

Swipe watch left to settings.
Swipe up to screen time.
Choose 3, 5, 8 seconds.

When I'm jogging, I want it on for the whole time. Long = 8 seconds is a joke for anyone doing track workouts.

I think there should be an option for at least the analogue clockfaces to remain on permanently.

Just bought a Charge 4 for Christmas and it did not have the Timeout Feature available. Syncing did not help and then today the app says there was an update available so updated the phone and all is good. The version when opened Christmas day was xxx1.94.13 and the upgrade took the phone to xxx1.96.29. So upgrade your Charge 4 and you should be good to go.

I just received my Fitbit Charge 4 - and Very Disappointed and Frustrated with Screen Timeout; Too Short -3 Seconds ONLY.
it does not even fit the purpose as a Basic Watch!

The latest firmware update issued today does allow for timeout adjustment. The “medium” setting gives you 5 sec which should be plenty without burning the battery charge too quickly.

Hi, I'm running Firmware 48.20001.96.29, I went into settings on my Charge 4 wanting to lengthen the display timeout, swiped my way into the "screen timeout setting" and was presented with the screen below of which I now seem to be stuck on and can't leave no matter which way I swipe (or pressings of the side button?) ... even holding down side button for over 8 secs doesn't seem to be initialising a restart ?
Screen
Time Out
Increasing
screen time
reduces
battery life
I've only had the device for a couple of days, and am still waiting for the "Tap the pink Update button. This option only appears if an update is available" to show up in my app so the newer options like Dynamic GPS etc. will then hopefully be available ... Only purchased / did initial setup a couple of days ago. What is the latest firmware version? am I running it (see above) ?
Please I want out of this screen ! ... many thanks in advance
Solved it. It's just how much the button is recessed. I thought i was pushing it, but obviously wasn't pushing my fingertip deeply enough into the hollow.
All is well now, though I must say the button does seem to be a bit difficult to make proper contact with.
Thanks for reading tho

Yes there is actually. It's under settings. Scroll down it's towards the bottom. Reads "SCREEN TIME OUT" tap it it tells you it drains the battery life. It will change to Medium, tap again it changes to Long

I have a Charge 4. DaBigDog is correct. I was able to go to Medium (6 seconds).

3 seconds, 6 seconds, 9 seconds

Sorry, but this is definitely not the best answer. It has no clear answer. Because of this post I almost gave up. But user DaBigDog and likely others described how to do it on a Charge 4. I changed my screen timeout to 6 seconds (Medium).

Where do you find this option? Tells me it can be found in settings but haven't found it yet.
