Will the screen timeout be adjustable in the Charge 4? This feature was one of the two most requested fixes in the Community forum for the Charge 3.

Hi @SunsetRunner,
I'm not entirely sure, I would check the manual (which may be found online) to see if they mention anything about screen adjustment. If not, then I would assume not.

I haven't found a setting to adjust screen timeout. The manual has no mention of it either.

It doesn't appear there is an ability to do this. As a new fitbit user this is quite frustrating. 4 seconds is not long enough. Also - when using the exercise feature outside, the light grey text is very hard to read. i think it would be great if fitbit 1. allowed us to adjust the screen time, and 2. made the screen brightness adjustable so we can see the data when outside.

yes I agree this is very frustrating. I cant actually read everything on the screen before **ahem** times out and goes blank .. That would be a basic feature of a Fitness tracker that you can read the display !!!

You can now adjust screen timeout timing, the option is Default / Medium / Long.
Kindly update to the latest version 1.96.29.

It is under Setting of your tracker. Please ensure you are in the latest firmware 1.96.29.

I upgraded my charge 4 to 1.96.29. There is no option available to change the screen timeout.

It is in the bracelet settings. Scrolling the screen to the left. And within the configuration by scrolling the screen up.

On your tracker, swipe left to settings and tap. Swipe up 2x to screen time. Should say 'default' (3 seconds). Tap once, you will get a battery usage warning but it will now read 'medium" (6 seconds). Tap again, after battery warning it will read 'long' (9 seconds). Tap again to return to default.

I just received a new fitbit Charge 4, installed the software and the update, and that option still isn't appearing. The turns off way too quickly to be useful.

I just updated from Charge 2 to Charge 4 and I can't find this "Screen Timeout" -it IS listed in the Manual under "Adjust Settings" but I can't find it. The screen is way to short to read.
