I noticed this morning that my Fitbit Charge 3's screen was much, much dimmer than normal and that it was no longer responding to my finger taps to activate the screen. I have to push the side button to get it to show the time ... and I have to be in a dark room to be able to read it! I have rebooted it, and at first the smiley face was nice and bright, but then it went back to dim. And it still doesn't respond to taps.

Check it's not in Sleep Mode.

That was it! No idea how I got it into sleep mode... but if it happens again, I'll know what to do. Thank you so much.

Same thing with mine. It has been syncing for 8 hours and just finished. I just did a reset, the smiley face appeared nice and bright, and then it went dimly lit again (it is not in sleep mode).

How do I know it is in sleep mode? I have no screen at all.

Hi, welcome to the Community forums @NJBean @okbotto @HappyQuilter, I'll be glad to help you with this.
Thank you for sharing this information about what you've been experiencing with the screen of the Charge 3 that is too dim.
@NJBean, it's great to know that you were able to resolve by disabling the Sleep Mode feature, thank you for sharing this update.
@okbotto , since you already tried to disable the Sleep Mode and the restart procedure, I've proceeded to send your information to the Customer Support team for further assistance; you should be getting a reply soon.
@HappyQuilter, this option should be available on the Quick Settings. Press and hold the button, and swipe left to access the quick settings screen.
When the sleep mode setting is on:
I've also been informed that you already contacted the Customer Support team about this, keep me posted on the outcome.
Let me know if you have further questions.

May I ask, how did you get it out of sleep mode? I think that may be my problem. Thanks in advance

You can always get to in 'Settings', but probably also if hold in side button a few seconds and look for 'Sleep' - might have to scroll down.

Same with me. Cant see the screen to know if it's in the sleep mode. sHould have access via iPhone

Like Happy Quilter, if you can't see the screen you can't see any settings. Why can't this be done on the Fitbit app on an iPhone.
