For the past few nights I wasn't getting my sleep stage details. It suggested I wear the band tighter. Now it looks like Fitbit has decided to make this part of a paid subscription. As someone who has severe sleep apnea, this has been one of the main features I look to. Last week I was considering buying the Versa 2 model to upgrade. Now it's time to BOYCOTT FITBIT and look for a new company.

@ActiveGuy77 You don't need the premium package to get sleep stages and a sleep score. That is available to all users. The premium package does give more detailed information about your sleep. If you aren't getting sleep stages, try all the troubleshooting steps in this Help article.
You should still think about the upgrade to the Versa 2. The Ionic/Versa family/Charge 3 show an Estimated Oxygen Variation graph as part of the information for ALL users. No premium required. It is a sleeping SpO2 trace. Your Charge 2 doesn't support this feature.

Thank you for your reply. It is stating that I need to upgrade to Premium for sleep details. I've been using this sleep app for almost 2 years now with no issues. But over the last 3 days it hasn't been given the details of sleep. I did a little digging around on the forums and noticed other people are having the same frustration. It looks like Fitbit is charging for this data now

@ActiveGuy77 This chart shows the difference between the standard and premium sleep features.
The most common reason users don't get sleep stages is that their Fitbit count get a consistent heart rate trace. If you are getting patterns instead of stages, there should be an explanation in the sleep details. Have you ever cleaned the LED emitters and the sensor? I use a microfiber cloth that is damp with alcohol. Fitbit recommends cleaning the charging contacts with alcohol.
I saw another post where the user is saying almost exactly what you are saying. Can you post a screenshot of the message that says you must have premium?

Thank you for your help. I'm going to clean the screen to see if that works. I don't see where it will let me attach a screenshot.
It does now state: "To get details about your sleep quality try our Premium service" It never said that before. I noticed other users have recently posted the same dissatisfaction.

@ActiveGuy77 If you are posting from the app, there is an icon with a mountain. That lets you upload a saved screenshot from your photo library. But IMHO, Fitbit is just nagging you to sign up for premium.

I also have a Charge 2. Mine just showed sleep duration last night, with no stages. I wore the band the same way I always wear it. This happened a couple months ago, for several nights in a row. I did all the steps they suggest, twice, and it made no difference. Then suddenly, it just started working again.
I like my Charge 2, and I'm not interested in upgrading to a different model of Fitbit, unless I have to. And I am giving my Charge 2 the benefit of the doubt, because despite charging it last night, it was practically dead this morning. So maybe it didn't have enough charge to work properly. I actually didn't check to see that it was charged after taking it off the charger last night - I just assumed it was fully charged. Maybe it was not charging properly. 🤔
And now they're offering the free trial for Premium for 3 months. And the Google acquisition looks like it might go through. Who knows what will happen then...

I'm a fan of the Charge 2 as well. It's simple and not too cumbersome. One of the earlier members was right. I wiped down the contacts on the back of it really well and now it's working. I'm so relieved! Thank you to this community!!

@ActiveGuy77 My husband doesn't have premium. He showed me his app and I saw the box you are referring to. Yep, Fitbit is trying to get you to sign up for premium.

I like my charge2 and don't want a premium package. I just cleaned contacts with alcohol and will know tomorrow if it solved the problem I have had increasing spans of days at a time with no sleep stages reported. I wishthis tip had been in troubleshooting list.
