The last 2 nights my sleep patterns have dramatically improved according to my fitbit. I suddenly went from averaging around 4 hours "sleep" from 8 hours in bed to over 6 hours (yes I do have it on sensitive and it is still on sensitive). Suspicious about this I checked when there was last an update to the app and there was one 2 days ago. Has something been changed with this update?

Hello my friend @Paul_p, hope you're enjoying the Fitbit forums. Actually you're right, if you're an Android user, the latest update (v 2.51) has an improvement in the Sleep Stages graphics and information. We're continuously working to improve our products and services; with every update in our platforms we're delivering a better service to our users.
Hope to see you around more often.

Hey @Paul_p, nice to see you again. The improvement with the graphic is that now we fixed a bug that prevent the users in the past to see the real sleep times in the graphics. I'd like to invite you to our Discussions board where you can find encouragement from other members, recipes and motivation to make your life as healthier you can, you can also share your experiences and find friends to share this amazing adventure.
Catch you later.

I don’t like the update in the sleep part. It says I am sleeping while I am reading, looking at social media Just because I am lying down, doesn’t mean I am sleeping

Please go back to actually recording “sleep time”. I already know how long I was in bed so posting this is totally useless to me. What matters to me is how long I was asleep. Why would you think this is an improvement? Unless Fitbit goes back to recording sleep time there isn’t much point in using it

I use the sleep tracker daily. This new update is pointless, it just shows how long I was in bed basically. I now need to do the math to figure out my actual sleep. The way it was functioning prior was great, why screw it up? I used to get on average 4-6 hours of sleep and now like magic I'm getting 8-9 hours?? Please fix this it's not accurate at all.

The fitbit app changed for android. I tracked my sleep daily. Checked on my resting heart rate. I am using the fitbit charge hr. Now it says that will not work to record sleep. I do not want to buy a new fitbit to continue tracking my sleep and heart rate. Why?

So you don't think they will ever fix this glitch?
Do the newer models definitely work correctly with android?

The Fitbit charge 2 will not let you track sleep after the update. Worked before the update.
Now fitbit app. says charge 2 will not work.

After several days of Charge HR seemingly tracking time in bed instead of time asleep, today it's back and the prior days adjusted too. Hooray! Hope it stays!
