I had a Charge which overall I was happy with , other than bad battery life and inability to change it. Took a chance and bought a Charge 4 I hate it. I can’t see it out side to use for exercise. It doesn’t track right, and the app is useless for recording your workouts. Garmin gps works a way better, and map your run let’s you edit workouts, what is up with Fitbit. I will never by another one.

How is the app useless for recording workouts?  I'm just wondering if because it is different from the Charge, and if you know how to use the Exercise App.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I walk, do tai chi and kayak, only records walk but gps only works properly sometimes. Can’t input my workouts. I use yoga for tai chi, but outdoor workout doesn’t work for kayaking. I can track on old garmin but then I can’t put it in Fitbit. Fitbit needs to learn from map my run/fitness how to build a proper app.
And why do I have to press three different starts to get my walk to go, one would be enough. I can’t see it good outside and I think sometimes I am turning it off, But even if I don’t (the odd day the gps is accurate) the gps takes forever to connect.
The only good functions are the heart rate and sleep.

I can't see my screen outside and it goes into sleep mode after 5 seconds.

AGREE! I have had two or three previous models and never had an issue. The Charge 4 is terrible! The battery life is much less than previous models and mine never seems to connect properly to charge. It shows that it is charging and hours later not charged. If I manage to get it charged the battery can read 68% and not last 24 hours....so frustrating! Mine is only three weeks old and after I wipe the data I am returning. I had an online chat with fitbit today and they said to save the battery disable different things. My response was,:Why have it if I have to disable everything? They also completely disregarded the fact that the battery reported 68% charge and died in 24 hours. Also, disregarded the fact that it had been plugged into charger for several hours and still not charged today instead it showed the fitbit logo and 001. I looked that up online of course an error message I had to correct to get a screen again. My kids have been trying to get me to switch to an apple watch for years and due to their lack of support it appears it may be time.

Agree!!! I had a Charge 2 HR which worked fairly well for calorie tracking, sleep tracking and notifications.  Unfortunately, the screen developed a small crack so I upgraded to a Charge 4 when Costco was running a sale.  A huge mistake.  The biggest feature was the GPS and I didn't need it and don't use it!  Sleep tracking is now very shaky.  I no longer get a low battery notification.  It has stopped syncing to my iPhone for texts and phone calls. I think that I am stuck with it.  I am very disappointed with it, because even if I get it to work the way I want it to, it has cost me numerous wasted hours to do it and I have no confidence that the next update will install without something else going wrong.

Exactly! You are right. The time wasted getting it to work is not worth it. I am currently using my old Alta which works so much better. Like you, I have a crack in the screen which is why I upgraded. The worst part of all was the help chat yesterday. They made it out to seem as if I simply did not charge it properly. They did not seem to realize that I had connected it several times without it successfully charging. I think the gps feature is what is killing this Fitbit battery.

I despise this Charge 4. Had the 2 and loved it until after 2/12 years the face got cracked up. This thing has me absolutely miserable. I can’t read it outdoors. I’m constantly syncing it to get messages. But the worst thing is that god-forsaken charger! It takes me forever to align the device and half the time it doesn’t even charge. I hate this thing, wish I had never bought it. What a ripoff. I will never buy another Fitbit product again.

100 percent agree. Had a charge 2 and it was great. Charge 4 is a piece of garbage. Never works right and all the tracking never works correctly. Complete waste of money. Never buying one of these products again.

I’m also hating on my Charge 4. Mostly frustrated when I can see that it’s not logging all of my steps (walking but no change in steps). And the app is worse. I just took a long walk and accidentally left my Charge 4 behind. The Fitbit app on my iPhone didn’t record a single step so there was nothing to sync. Also,

-ridiculously sensitive charging setup

-hard to read screen in daylight

-wristband broke
I’ll be shopping for an alternative.
