There were no more than 200 steps today. Steps not resetting at midnight. How could this be? There is now no known date. Restart is not used. The step number did not change. Help!!!. This way the device is completely useless !!!

@Laszlo52 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! I have seen this happening when there is a change on the time on your tracker or after a firmware update. Still I understand how bothersome this can be. Try restarting your tracker by doing the following:
Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.
This won't delete the steps but it will help your tracker reset to 0 the following midnight.
Let me know how it goes!

I've done this already since 3 times and unfortunately did not use it. The situation is unchanged.
Why, when does this Fitbit do it? It's an ordinary weekday, not January 1. The latest firmware is on it (Firmware version: 22.22.55.2). Will they fix this bug?
Sorry, I now see: "This won't delete the steps but it will help your tracker reset to 0 the following midnight." I understand you!

Thank you! Problem solved!
Why, when does this Fitbit do it? It's an ordinary weekday, not January 1. My firmware version of Fitbit Charge 2: (22.22.55.2). Hardware error or Firmware error? Is the error dependent on Fitbit Charge 2 production? Are older manufacturers or have you recently made or have the latest firmware (22.22.55.2) since the problem? Will they fix this bug?

@Laszlo52 happy to hear that everything went back to normal. Sadly I really don't know what triggers this error. I haven't experienced it myself but it obviously happens. I know the team is still investigating this issue and trying to resolve it so hopefully there will be a definite fix in the near future.

@AlvaroFitbit This fix does not work for me. I have tried resetting my Charge 2 several times and resetting the timezone. Nothing is working. The date is showing correctly, but the steps haven't reset. Any other suggestions?

@allisonnarthur It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Thank you for restarting your Charge 2. As initially stated in my previous post the restart won't remove the steps from your tracker or account but will help it reset back to zero the following midnight. Please wait until midnight tonight and let me know if the issue persist the following day.
Keep me posted!

@Jillandthedog It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 didn't reset at midnight. Make sure that it wasn't near any vibrating surface (working fan, a/c unit or computer) as this may cause the tracker to count steps. As already mentioned please restart your Charge 2 following the instructions in my first post to help it reset the following midnight.
Let me know tomorrow if your tracker did reset back to zero!

Same problem here, seems like there was recent firmware upgrade and the problem started since then.
Steps wont reset after midnight the next day , even on following the above instructions.

My device -did- reset overnight; however, I was expecting that it would also resolve the problem of double-counting Saturday's steps (and other tracking options, such as distance, calories, etc.) on Sunday and I can see from my dashboard that this problem was -not- resolved. @AlvaroFitbit, in answer to your earlier point, this was not a case of steps being added accidentally by vibration, fan, etc. It was specifically that the Saturday step count was not cleared, so my Sunday step count started at 15,000+ (Saturday's count), so my Sunday step count was 35000+ (Saturday plus Sunday). This is not user error, but appears to be a bug in the firmware. Is there any way to retroactively (or manually) fix Sunday's data to subtract Saturday's data?

@sravinu A warm welcome to our Community!
@Frogdiddledo @sravinu @Jillandthedog the restart suggested will help the tracker reset the following midnight but it won't remove the steps accumulated when it didn't reset. At this time there is no way to remove these steps (not even logging a driving activity). Hopefully the team will have a fix to prevent this from happening in the future.

There is still no fix for this nor any way of forcing a reset of the Charge 2 HR. My 26,000 steps from yesterday just rolled over into today, at seconds passed midnight my band vibrated to tell me I had achieved my goal for the day! Interestingly on FItbit app on my iPhone, if I go into the detail of the number of steps today and bring up the graph, it knows I have done 12,460 today but it is still showing the total steps as over 38,000 and has combined yesterday’s and today’s total for distance and for floors climbed. I’ve tried finding when today it thinks I did the additional 26,000 steps and negating them by logging that time as ‘driving’, but that hasn’t worked. I’ve done numerous soft resets, deleted my CHarte 2 HR and reinstwlled it, unpaired it and repaired it, logged out and back into omy Fitbit account, but nothing has worked. Not only is this frustrating for me, it is very annoying for the other people in my workweek hustle challenge as my total for the week is artificially inflated and I have had to apologise to them for this. I’ve wasted at least three hours today trying to sort this out, and all I can do now is hope that at midnight tonight it behaves itself. I can’t fix today’s entry, whatever I do.
Fitbit - please just fix this

@ECUgirl @jaxxy Welcome! It's good that the community is growing! Sorry to hear that your tracker's didn't reset at midnight and for the delay in my response. Also thank you for following the suggestions in this thread. The restart should help the tracker reset the following day but it won't remove the incorrect steps for the day affected.

Happened to me too last night - the info from yesterday carried over into today. I wondered if it had anything to do with the time change. Gonna try to plug-in reset for tonight, but wish there was a way to clear yesterday's data.
