Stuck Progress Bar

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Last night, my fitbit got stuck with the dreaded "progress bar".  That's been the only image on my Fitbit charge HR for almost 24 hours.  I called to get help with this matter, and the bottom line is that this is a known issue with the firmware/software.  That's it.  Problem NOT solved and I'm stuck with a $150 hunk of junk.  Anyone else having this issue?

I feel bad for the customer service people who are clearly following prompts and walk frustrated customers through a bunch of steps that end up not working.  It's not their fault that the product is poorly made.

In this short video, we will go over the simple process of rebooting or restarting your fitbit Charge. You do this when the device is not responding. This won't erase any fitness activity. 1. Plug in the USB charging cable 2. PRESS & HOLD the button for 10 seconds, until you see the fitbit logo ...

Hi Everyone. I just called customer service and Liz from El Salvador helped me to resolve the issue. On my settings I click forget this device, turn off Bluetooth, Wait for 10 seconds, turn it on again. Then on the Fitbit app I added my Charge HR, it was synced and it worked again. Sometimes we just need patience 🙂

somebody has mentioned that, In the settings we need to opt 'Forget this device'. But I am not able to see this option in my apple phone.

Please let me know how to get back display on my chargeHR?

Right now it is displaying ' ? ' on  the screen.

Had the same issue with my charge HR... solved by forgetting the device (for iOS: Settings > Bluetooth then clicking on the (i) icon and selecting forget this device) and removing the device from my fitbit app (account > charge HR > Remove this charge HR).

Then added the device as a new fitbit and the device completed update and is working. I had the charge HR plugged in fyi.

Telling the Bluetooth to forget the device is usually enough .

Removing the tracker from your account at best will do nothing. at worst will add problems and not recommended. If you want to set the tracker up again .Then do an add device and choose the replace option. Replace img the tracker as a new device with itself

Deleting the app should not really be necessary. making sure the app is updated is a good idea.

Restarting the tracker, phone, and removing the tracker from the phones BT settings is also a good idea .

Then as long as the bar increases in leangth with each try we should be good to keep trying .

Also some android phones have problems doing a firmware updayeuover Wi-Fi, try cellular data.

I had the same thing happen to me last week. I spent FOREVER doing everything on the help forum. I chatted with a fitbit support rep. She had me do EVERYTHING that I already did but I played along hoping that it would work. This took for over 1 hour. It did not work and I was basically told sorry that there was nothing that they could do for me - I had already warranted my original device. Well, I figured out how to solve it and want to share it with everyone.  During my previous quest to solve the issue I had "forgotten device on my account" so I went to fitbit.com on my laptop and downloaded the install program that they have and started it as it was a brand new device.  As I soon as I started I saw the deathbar start to move and it was up and running!!!!  Good luck everyone, I still can't believe that fitbit tech couldn't tell me to do this.

Since we don't know what posts where being read. we really dontdoknow what the everything is that you tried. To resetup a tracker never requires a user to remove the tracker from their Fitbit account. and it is never suggested is to remove the tracker.. It is all ways better to set the tracker up as a replacement device. Doing this will prevent the tracker from being removed if tgetsetup failed.
