Hi @jonfri01 I would check your settings. I wonder if the app has permission to run in the background.
Of on an android device, you may need to turn of power management for the Fitbit app.
This update really should have only taken a few hours to 3 days at the Max to come.
I had my update in less than 10 hours after setting up.

Hi @Ericf ,
Yes that was one thing I thought too but all seems to be correct in Android with background task running enabled. I also tried forcing it to stay awake. There have been a number of people reporting the same. Got there in the end.
Thanks
Jon

Just got a new Charge 4 which has firmware 20001.94.13 on it and is not responding when the settings app is pressed (symptoms similar to described here). As I was setting up, it showed that the settings app needed an update, which installed. However, it’s like the app isn’t there.
I’ve rebooted in the USB cradle and it doesn’t fix it. Is it just a matter of waiting for my iOS app to catch up with the firmware version as described in the solutions here?

Hi @Cybergoths a couple of things to remember.
Make sure that the fitbit app on the phone is current.
Make sure that the background processes are running.
Keep your phone connected to the Internet.
Since you say that you just installed the Charge 4, as mentioned above, you are waiting for the final firmware to be buffered to the phone.
Once the phone has received the firmware update, you will be promoted to install said firmware. After it is installed, you will have access to the settings, along with all the latest features.

Firmware downloaded overnight, and issues have resolved. Thanks for your help.

Fitbit Charge 4 'Settings' unavailable during first time use.
The FitBit Iphone App only works when the DATA or Wi-Fi internet connection is active.
You have to allow for 3-4 days of continued use and syncing the watch to the Iphone
FitBit App, the Setting selection will still not work during this time.
In 3-4 days after normal use, I got a prompt indicating an available update
for the watch after completing a sync.
The update is done while the Charge 4 is connected to the Charger clip. The update
session can take about 1 hour, during this time the watch display a horizontal line on the
screen. The line is brightened as the update continues. A smiley face appears when done.
The Settings menu selection now works for me.
