Unable to access Charge 4 settings

Think I need to reboot charge 4 but I can't enter settings to do that

Cannot access settings on the Fitbit Charge4. Freezes, if touch settings on the Fitbit. Has to do with the Fitbit, not the App.

It looks like you just have to wait for the update like everyone is saying.

I had the same problem and could not get into setup either. I got my charge 4 on Monday and tried everything I could think of. Then I read in Community

that others were having the same problem and to wait for the Firmware to update. Today Wed the  app said the update was ready. I updated and

that took care of the problem. It looks like you have to wait for the update (48.20001.96.29) and it takes a few days

The  app will get the update and then tell you to update.

See the accepted answer above for when you get the update. 

 

Shortly after installing the Charge 4. The app starts buffering the update. 

The phone needs to be kept connected to the Internet. 

The Fitbit app needs permission to run in background. 

So how long does it take? 

That will depend on your Internet speed, what else in your phone is using the Internet, how many other processes are using the Internet, and how busy the Fitbit server is.

Set up Charge 4 Wednesday. This is Friday, and still no update. Is there a way to find it or force it?

I am still waiting since new on Wednesday. Nothing appeared on phone, and nothing has appeared on the Charge4. Sunk so far.

I found if you try to sync to your phone and the blue tooth on your
computer is active it prevents you from syncing to your phone and visa
versa so turn off one of them in order to get things moving on each on

No App on my computer,  just on phone. Charger does sync to the phone regularly.

@pdnRPH make sure your phone is connected at all times. 

Make sure the Fitbit app is able to run in the background. 

Check that your tracker syncs when the app is not open in the foreground.

@pdnRPH what double tap? The User Manual do isn't mention any double tap. 

The Sense and the Versa 3 does have a double tap option on the button.

My Fibit2 and Fitbit3 both had double tap, and move the wrist, and it was on. It must have something to do with DND or screen wake..... and I can't figure it out. I'm not dumb, but nothing changes upon touching.🙃

Tap the screen twice and it turns on. You don't have to push the button on the side. I didn't know you could do that. I didn't like pushing the button 

to see something. My charge 4 seems to work works by default. You learn something new every day.

I didn't know you could double tap to see the screen, much better than pushing the button. I also didn't know about the screen wake that turns on the screen with the twist of the wrist. Thanks for that info. I played with DND, sleep and screen wake modes and could not disable the double tap. I'm glad

to see that you got the update finally. They say it takes 2-3 days but it's hard to wait for it. I can't help you on the double tap maybe try rebooting the

charge 4, or someone else may have an idea.

Here's the deal. Turn off DND. And, I have sleep, with 8 hours on, and the, just turn the wrist slightly and you're on, and  if it doesn't  double tap. Finally like my Charge3, but the new Charge 4.

Hello,

I have the same problem, settings do not work.
I have tried with both Iphone 6 and Android (Huawei P20).
Settings app does not start, other apps start.
It's been 24 hours I use Charge 4.
Has restarted Charge 4 several times (left button + 8 sec).
When I check in the phone after Charge 4 updates, it says that Charge 4 is updated.
I'm grateful if you can help me.

Iphone:
-firmware version of the tracker: 2001.94.13
-App version: 3.36 (1013)

Android:
-Firmware version of the tracker: 48.20001.94.13
-App version 3.36 (20243545)

Let's check what version you are waiting for @yahoo276 

You are waiting for version 48.20001.96.29

 

As mentioned above. Please keep the phone connected to the Internet. And the Fitbit app running in the background. Since you are logged into two phones. You might be downloading the update on both of them.
