When I try to login to the app I get a message to say my password is invalid so I have requested a new password but when I check my email account no password has been received.

Seems odd that you're unable to reset the password of your Fitbit account. Since you already tried the reset password procedure, I recommend you to verify that you're not placing any typo when trying to login. Then, try again the password reset process and check your spam/junk folders too.
