Would someone explain to me in simple English why my HP Chromebook is not downloading the fitbit app (from Google Play) so I can add my Charge 2 to my account?

Hi @Redfox618 Google Chrome has a different operating system and doesn't work with the Fitbit. You have another way to set up?

Hi @Redfox618, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. In simple English, you may have difficulties downloading the Fitbit app on your Chromebook because just as @Odyssey13 mentioned, such device is not compatible with our products and services. If you haven't already done so, please check our help article: How do I set up my Fitbit device? for instructions of how to setup your device.
