Hi everyone,

After my trusty charge 2 gave up the ghost I'm looking at the charge 4 as I really like the shape of the charge trackers.

I know that the last update was in 2022 but will I have any problems connecting and syncing the tracker to my Bluetooth and Fitbit app.

Hi @Reshape  the Charge 4 is no longer receiving updates beyond 2024. When a device is retired, the updates only continue 2 years after it's no longer available for sale in the Fitbit Store. You might not have any issues, but you might want to reconsider which Fitbit you get to replace the Charge 2.

@Odyssey13 thank you for your reply,

I'm after a Fitbit that has an altimeter thats why I choose the charge 2 in the first place.

I have been researching the sense 2 what are your thoughts on that Fitbit please.

@Reshape   The Sense 2 has ECG and stress management hardware/features that you might not want to pay extra for.  The Versa 4 doesn’t have that hardware.

Thanks @LZeeW  I'm not really concerned about the extras as long as it has the same features as the charge 2 that's all I need.

@Reshape   I'm sorry, but I mistyped on my previous post.  The current model in the Charge series is the Charge 6.  Fitbit removed the altimeter in the Charge series when it added the ECG and stress management hardware.  There are no current trackers with an altimeter.

The tracker that is closest to the Charge 2 is the Inspire 3, except that the Inspire series doesn't have an altimeter either.

Fitbit no longer makes a tracker that meets your needs.  I know you can still find a Charge 4 from a third party vendor.  But all Charge 4s were manufactured in 2020-2021.  Rechargeable batteries will deteriorate over time, even if they have never been used.  I never recommend buying a device that has been discontinued for this long.

@LZeeW i will have to bite the bullet and buy a sense or versa, the problem is I have such small wrists these models look bulky but I'm sure I will get used to it in time. 🙂
