I am a weight watcher and use my Fitbit charge to track my steps. Recently it is double counting steps while walking using the timer to time my walks. I end up getting 7000 steps for walking but the timer will also give me steps as well. I end up having 14000 to 15000 steps whereas I just used to get the 7000 steps. It just recently started counting double or more. Wondering if anyone else has come across this. Wondering what to do. Thanks for any ideas

Your not manually logging the Walk as well are you? Because you should not.
If that's not the case I would do a restart and see if it helps. do it at least 3 times
Restart

I'm having the same issue. You either have to unsync it from WW and enter your steps manually or turn off the auto recognize feature in your exercise settings.....they really need to fix this glitch. I spoke with WW yesterday and they put it in as a problem.

Yes its a Weight Watchers problem. I looked at my Fitbit Account and the added stuff at WW is on them.
I Unlinked it as it had me at 218 AP this week already and thats just plain crazy.
WW needs new Technology. OR hire people that know technology
More peole that bug them about the error is good. And dont take its a Fitbit Problem as its not.
I sent an email to WW now

Thank you for participation in the forums @Thundrr @andrea233! I'll be glad to help.
There seems to be a problem with the WeightWatchers link to Fitbit; in this case you'll need to double check on their current bug reports about the status of this problem. This is because the integration was created by WW and they should explain how they interpret the data from your Fitbit tracker.
There's a workaround for WW provided by @Shatzi in this thread, hopefully it will correct your logged activity and show it as a single log.
Let me know if you have any questions, have a great day!
PS: @WendyB Thank you for helping us out. Keep being awesome.

One more user chiming in == my experience is slightly different. It shows up as double points for exercise tracked manually in fitbit. But I think that WW is simply not removing exercise that I deleted or reentered. I tested this by entering some bogus exercise (in fitbit), then deleting it. Weightwatchers tracked it anyway! so there may be more than one bug going on here.
the WW app contractors need to do more testing with fitbits. They are not handling all possible use cases (user scenarios).

The original issue has been resolved. When you earn steps from doing an aerobic exercise, you get points for the exercise and you get less credit for the steps. For example, usually 10000 steps would be 11 or 12 Fitpoints but when those steps include 25 minutes of exercise, you only get 6 or 7 Fitpoints for the 10000 steps and then the Fitpoints for the exercise too.

Thank you! Chatted with weight watchers and they had no idea. You answered my question!

It's 3 years later and this is still a problem!

2022 and still an issue. I've been trying to get this resolved for weeks with no luck. Nothing WW suggests works.
