Right now, I can choose a number of hours per day in which I want to track movement of 250 steps. I attend many meetings, go to movies, attend sporting events, etc. during which I do not want to get up and walk around. This means I often lose the achievement of hitting my steps per hour. Often, I miss the achievement in hour one of the daily challenge due to scheduled meetings. This usually means I won't even try for the remainder of the day because I know I lost the challenge for the day. Can there be an option to identify how many hours you want to meet the challenge? For example, I would put the challenge times at 8:00am to 11:00pm and then indicate I meet the challenge if I succeed at traveling 250 steps in 10 out of the 15 hours available.

@Anastasya I like this idea, especially due to the fact there are times when I cannot get up and walk away from what I am doing. Requests like this are best done through the Feature Suggestion forum.

Maybe an option would be for one kind of award if you hit all 14 hours, and a slightly less ecstatic award if you miss just one or two. These could say, "Good job! You were able to get 250 steps in 12 out of 14 hours today!
(I also find myself giving up the effort to move every hour if I have already missed one, especially if early in the day. I'll get up if I can, but I cant just leave mid-conversation to get up and walk...)
