Warranty - Faulty Device

Hi all!

I have loved my FitBit experience until very recently when my Charge 4 has stopped working and I have been informed that it’s out of warranty. The compensation offered is 35% discount on anew item which doesn’t even cover a replacement Charge 4. Im really disappointed as I’ve had many issues with my device over the past few years, needing multiple replacement straps and ‘pebbles’ yet I remained a loyal brand ambassador as I liked the product so much. If there was a greater period of time without any faults then I would understand the 1 year warranty policy, but given the frequency of faults, I’ve incredibly disappointed that I have not been offered a suitable solution. I am starting to look at competitor devices as I want a fitness tracker but this experience has put me off of FitBit.

Any advice? Have I been unlucky with my Charge 4 faults, has anyone been able to resolve a similar situation?

Thank you

Hi @SebbiC  a discount never pays for a replacement. You might want to consider purchasing an extended warranty from SquareTrade, which is owned by Allstate, which would give you a new device once the original warranty was over.

Hi there,

Thank you so much, it’s a good idea that I never considered before. I doubt I will purchase a FitBit again but I will definitely take out a extended cover on the next fitness tracker I get.

It’s a shame that the standard policy isn’t aligned with the quality and durability of the product, I’ve never had an issue like this before as faults have always been after a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks again!

@SebbiC did you possibly buy the Charge 4 with a credit card that offers extended warranty protection? Check your card benefits and see whether you are eligible to file a claim.

Hello!

It was a gift originally but I think it was paid for in cash.

Thank you though, it’s a great idea and I will double check!
