iOS App will not recognise password

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The app has asked me to re-login to my Fitbit account, however it doesnt recognise the password. Strange, as the same password has logged into my online account.

Its a Fitbit charge, I have tried switching bluetooth on/off, wi-fi on/off, reinstalling the app, no joy.

Any advice other than go buy an apple watch?

@DE111  have you tried to do a forgot my password, so you can reset it? As long as you can still get into the email address that you currently use for Fitbit, you should be able to do that.

Hi, have managed to log in using 4G on my phone. It seems it may be something to do with my VPN connection. Have since gone back onto WiFi and the app now loads, however the fitbit web site still gives 'access denied - IP address is banned' over VPN, so something weird going on. Have contacted the VPN provider to see if they can suggest anything.

Will do, its definitely the VPN, as disabling the VPN allows the app to connect.

Hey @Odyssey13 , nice to see you back and thank you very much for your help!

@DE111 , a warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for the provided information. I'm also glad to hear that without the VPN you could log in again.  Besides the error of the blocked ip, did you receive any other error message? You can also verify if your password is working, trying to log in into your Online Dashboard with the same credentials.  In this way you can check if the situation is caused by Fitbit App or your password or information.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

Trying to access the Fitbit dashboard via Safari on my iPhone, with VPN running, the error message is as follows:

"Error 1006: The owner of this website (www.fitbit.com) has banned your IP address."

There is a Cloudfare Ray ID, so I am guessing this may be a cloudfare security setting.

The FitBit app then also fails to sync.

The response from the VPN provider is simply to try a different VPN Server, this does work, but its a bit of a faff.....
