Calories Burned Accuracy

I realize that the calories burned isn't entirely accurate on any of these types of trackers but it'd be nice to have at least some idea. I feel like my Fitbit isn't even close though. For example I had a lazy day on Saturday. Didn't workout, didn't do much of anything. Fitbit tracked 5200 steps for the day, 0 zone mins, and 1905 calories burned. Yesterday I logged 11,015 steps with 45 zone mins and calories burned says 1915. So, basically my steps were more than double, I worked out hard enough to log 45 mins in zone yet I only burned an extra 10 calories? How can that be right? If it is, why am I bothering to work out?

Are you getting heart rate recordings?
