Can't connect Inspire HR to FitBit App

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have just opened the fitbit app on my iPhone (after not opening it for about a week).  My Inspire HR can no longer sync.  I have version 3.20.1 and my device has firmware version 1.63.5.

When I try to sync it says "This version is no longer compatible with your Inspire HR.  Your device may not be able to connect with the app until you update."  I click on Update App and it opens the App Store, but there is no update available.

If I click Maybe Later and go into my profile and click on the Inspire HR (last synced on 5/4/2020), the page opens and then closes within 3 seconds.

What can I do to get things connected correctly again?

@lilhokie93 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not syncing with your Fitbit app on your iPhone. Since you can't keep the app open I suggest you uninstall the app from your phone, restart your phone and reinstall the app. After this log in and see how it behaves. If you keep having issues you can check these suggestions.

Let me know how it goes.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It stays open, but it says
it is looking for the device. My Bluetooth on and it should sync, but it’s
not.

@Jkyprios I hope you're doing well! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not syncing and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. You can try the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Keep me posted.

"Remove all other connected Bluetooth devices" is NOT an acceptable 'try this and see if it works' recommendation …. what, so that I then have to go back in and re-pair everything else on the planet? No thanks. So far, I've re-started the app several times, re-started my phone a couple of times, and eventually removed my Inspire HR from the app. Now even though I get to the pairing screen and it says it's connecting, eventually it fails and says my Bluetooth is not connected. Which it most definitely is. When I go into Bluetooth, it can see the Inspire HR, but will not pair it directly. My next shot will be to either log out of the app (if I can find where that option is!), or uninstall the app all together and re-install it. My firmware and software is up to date as of August 10th.

… update: Fitbit is mind-reader!  After threatening to log out / uninstall the app, lo and behold, the darn thing connected!  I seem to have lost the last three days worth of sleep and heart rate info, but my basic steps info was preserved. Stay tuned for further developments, as they say LOL.
