Changing step goal?

I've googled for an answer but none of the solutions work. They'll say to click on this or that button and those aren't on my dashboard. Any idea how I can change my step goal?

See How do I set or change my other Fitbit goals?

Tap profile pic at top left to get to 'Account' page.  Tap 'Activity' under 'GOALS'; then tap 'Steps' and enter new number.

My profile pic is on the right. When I click on it, it takes me to page that shows all my badges and trophies. I do not see the words activities or goals.

However, I did manage to change the step goal on my app! I don't remember how I did it. I was just clicking links until I got to a place that let me put in a new number. So I won't know if it really worked until I hit the goal.

You would have to specify which type app you are using - phone, fitbit.com dashboard, Windows 10 app?

When someone does not specify, I usually just assume phone to avoid another round of question and answer just to find what you are looking at.

I guess I should have just given you the link.  Did you look at that?

I was trying to change the goal through the dashboard. I did look at that link you sent. It suggested hoving over the bottom of the tile and clicking on the gear icon that appears. The only thing that comes up is the option of deleting the tile. I see no way to change the goal. My cell is an iPhone 7 and I did figure out how to change goals from the app. But I appreciate your assistance.
