@cath1971 Auto-recognition (SmartTrack) is not GPS connected. If you want to do a GPS connected activity, you need to use the Exercise app. This Help article will help you set up and customize your Exercise app.

@cath1971 Your iPhone XR is fully compatible with the Fitbit app. I am at a loss to understand why your your GPS doesn't work.
Here is a link to the Inspire HR Manual. Tracking with the Exercise app is discussed starting on p 32. Verify that all your phone and device settings are correct.
When you try to use the exercise app, what happens? Please be specific.

@cath1971 I don't have my Inspire HR on my account right now, but will try and remember what I saw when using the exercise app. After swiping to get to the exercise app, then choosing walk, I believe that the device goes through the process of connecting before you start the exercise -- I might be wrong. The important part is that as the device is connecting to your phone's GPS, there is an animated phone icon that shows dashed lines while trying to connect, connected, or a phone with a slash through it if it did not connect. The device vibrates when you connect.
What happens when you try to start a walk with the exercise app on the device itself? Please be specific.
