Corrupted Inspire HR display

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So the screen of my Inspire HR has been getting worse and worse. It appears that the lights are burning out on the screen. It began with a few vertical stripes running down through the screen but now the screen is completely blank and I can't use it at all. It still vibrates when I hold down the power button and does continue to track all of my steps/ exercise. I've tried resetting it multiple times but that hasn't helped at all. I've also had issues w/ the battery dying really quickly (like every 6 hours needs to be charged) for about the last month. This is really frustrating because my tracker is less than a year old and I have no clue what could've caused this. Never had problems like this with my last Fitbit tracker so this is pretty disappointing. Has anyone faced a similar problem and knows how it can be fixed or if it just needs to be replaced?

Hi @JessicaP19, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for all the details that were shared, I understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To resolve this situation, I recommend you to try our restart process following the next steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Let me know if the issue persists and if you have any additional questions.

Hi there.

I tried restarting it but as I said the screen doesn't work at all so I can't tell if it actually restarted or not. I followed the instructions you sent, but no smiley face popped up. I've tried restarting it many times before when I could still see part of the screen but it never helped and it doesn't appear to have helped this time either. At this point I just want to know if there's anyway for my Fitbit to be replaced bc it's less than a year old and I don't believe that I am at fault for whatever caused this to happen.

Mine quit working today and all the instructions i followed did nothing. I've only had it a month.

I've pushed the button but it does absolutely nothing. No smiling face just goes to a blank screen.

Mine is only 1 month old and the same thing happened. Nothing I'm told to do works.

Jessica,

My screen went blank on me today.. I plugged it in, pressed the button while it was on charger( no Smiley face) came up right away but when I took it off the charger the smiley face appeared. Now mines working.. Hope this helps.

Not sure if this is helpful but I've attached pictures of what my screen used to look like and how it progressively got worse. It didn't just stop working all at once. It took maybe like a week or 2 to go from fully functioning to the screen not working at all. I've tried multiple times to restart and have had no luck. At this point I'm just ready to toss it. It won't last more than a few hours even when it's fully charged, so it's basically worthless at this point.

Mine too. I just get a glowing block of garbled green static.

I've used it for a bit less than two years, and am so disappointed in this tracker.

Hi,  looking for an resolution to this issue.  After 24 hours and a full charge I was able to reboot and see a smiley face.  Home screen looked fine but the rest was garbled when I swiped.  Then the screen went black and wouldn't turn on again.  I have rebooted again with the same results.

Also tried changing the clock face as was recommended somewhere else.  Strangely the clock face hasn't changed even though it is selected in the app.

Any suggestions would be helpful.  I have only had mine for 9 months.

Hello-- I also did the clock switch and while it does not resolve the problem completely, I do find that I am able to at least use the device again, and the functionality seems to be improving. I am not sure whether this is due to my avoidance of certain functions or because the battery is performing better. I did let my Fitbit run completely out of juice for a week right before this happened (I like to take week long breaks from biometric tracking), and was getting some battery readings that did not make much sense. For example, after only five minutes of charging it indicated that the device was at 85%.

Another thing that helps is that if the display is locked and you go into the app and synch it, this seems to unlock it.
