Dashboard on Windows 8 PC

It appears that all the dashboard functions like setting the clock face are not available on my PC. Is this correct? I do not have a smart phone, had to get a friend to sync the Inspire HR.

Hi @PaulainPrescott  see Page 19 of the user manual, but it will confirm you can't change the clock face on your computer. click to see

How are you planning on syncing your device? Are you able to do it with your computer?

I bought a Fitbit Bluetooth dongle which hopefully will work on sync

I have a Windows 8 which I updated to Windows 8.1 and use a dongle to sync. You can do almost the same things without a smartphone. I do have a smartphone, but still seem to sync via the computer. Any chance you might one day get a smartphone? You don't have to use the phone other than for the Fitbit. I have an older Android phone that I use to sync, do challenges, etc.

replacing my flip phone will have to wait.
can I connect with an Amazon Fire tablet?
How will I know if the FB has sync'd?

Amazon Fire tablet won't work, sad to say. You will open up the Fitbit Connect app on the computer and tell it to sync. When it finishes, it will tell you that sync is complete and you can see it on the dashboard.

I used my sister's phone to initialize, now the FB Connect is not
seeing the Inspire and it is right close by

Is the dongle in the usb port? That is the small bean size piece that acts as a bridge from your device to the Fitbit server.

Try restarting your Inspire while it's in the charger and see if that works.

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds. 
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
