Hi
I just received my inspire 2 a week ago. Today, I went for an hour walk with my inspire 2 on my wrist and my old inspire in my pocket.
My wrist counted 7000 steps and 6 active minutes... I was careful to makesure my arm was swinging. My pocket counted 7400 steps and 56 active minutes. Which is accurate and why are they so different? It seems a shame to have to go back to my old fitbit as it doesn't have the heart rate monitor on it and it isn't holding the battery well (is a few years old)
Thanks for any advice

I think part of the differences is that the original Inspire tracks Active Minutes but the Inspire 2 tracks Active Zone Minutes. The newer Active Zone Minutes take into account our fitness level when working out how many minutes to record and may explain the difference. There's a lot of good info on how active minutes are calculated (new and old types) in https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1379.htm?Highlight=active%20zone%20minutes

Thank you, I'll have a read of that. What about the difference in step counted. My old fitbit has now counted almost 1000 more! I am trying to work out the best way to use the new one. Maybe on wrist for sleep and main walk of the day and on clip for the rest of the time? I'll just have to accept that I won't be getting 60+ active minutes a day anymore!

I'm not sure about the step count difference. Could it be that when loose in a pocket it moves around more than when clipped to clothing and this may lead to extra steps being recorded? I guess the bigger question is which is more accurate. You could perhaps do a test where you count out, say, 200 steps and see what was tracked. I'd hope that the wrist count would be more accurate as that's how it's intended to be worn.
