Doubling my steps when syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Every time I sync my Fitbit Inspire HR with my computer, it doubles my steps. If I sync it again, it goes back down to the correct number. What is going on? I can't get it to sync with my Android phone, so I've been syncing it with my Windows 10 computer. But I'm getting frustrated with having to adjust the syncing results every time I walk near the computer.

Nice to see you around @JPBooklover, welcome to the Forums.

Thanks for reaching out the Fitbit Community. We really appreciate your time and for checking the accuracy of your Inspire HR. Sorry for this inconvenience with those extra steps.

Syncing with multiple devices shouldn't be double counting your steps. By any chance do you have another Fitbit device linked to your account? Or have you used the feature MobileTrack on your phone? This might be causing to get more steps or double counting them.

Please keep me posted.

No, I only have one fitbit device. And when I sync it with the fitbit app
on the computer, it exactly doubles the number of steps I've taken.
(Example: I've taken 2500 steps. I go to sync. Now the computer and my
fitbit both say 5,000 steps.) If I sync it again, it goes back down to the
right number. And no, I don't have Mobile Track on my phone.

I’m experiencing a similar issue on my iPhone. This just started to happen recently - the past week. The issue is temporary as it resets itself to the actual values at some point.

Yes, I too have this same issue. I sync and it doubles my daily steps (even changes them on my tracker), sync again, and they go back to the 'normal' amount of steps that I have actually done. So annoying as I never know if what its saying is correct or not.

I just experienced the same problem with my Charge 4

I didn't read closely to see your tracker is a different one than mine, I've a Charge 3, it as new as of April this year. But it doubles steps periodically not necessarily every time...frustrating.
