Exercise icon on Indpire

I am trying to figure out how to determine how many steps I take during a specific designated walk such as on an indoor track. It was easy to do with my old charge. You just pressed the button on the side of the watch it vibrated and switched over to monitoring the number of steps for that walk and then I could go back to the main screen for a total I have gotten one response already to this question but everything tells me to swipe down on my inspired to the exercise setting. I don’t see an exercise setting with the icon. I am on my laptop now and it talks about adding up to seven exercises to Shortcuts list, but I don’t see a Shortcuts list that includes walk it includes bike golf hike it’s tennis etc. what am I doing wrong. I don’t know how to set this up I thought I could do it on my laptop but it’s confusing me even more

The exercise shortcuts and the Exercise App icon are not on the Inspire, only on the Inspire HR.

On the Inspire to see number of steps on a walk, if the walk is auto-recognized, it will generate an exercise log you can see on the app under the days of exercise tile.

I have gotten pretty frustrated and just gave up. This looking at this today was the first time I realize that what I am wanting to do is not available on the inspired. Some of the advice I found gave me impression that I could do this on the inspire or the inspire HR. All I wanted to do was to be able to track my specific number of steps if I’m walking an indoor track or taking a walk outside. Are used to be able to do that with my charge so I am disappointed if this is not accessible on the inspire. You have no idea how much time I have spent trying to get a an exercise icon to pop up on my Fitbit screen
