Fitbit Inspire not syncing with Windows 10

I recently downloaded the Fit bit app for Windows but following an initial synching I have not been able to synch the fit bit with the app whenever I try to do so. I get a message saying that my connection is trying to find the tracker even after I have plugged in my fit bit to the laptop. I have tried rebooting while the fit bit is plugged into my laptop and still receive the message in the app that it is searching for my fit bit device. Is there a fix for this problem? Many thanks in advance.

Thank you, Alvaro, for your assistance. The reference information is most
helpful. I was able to confirm that my Bluetooth is on but I am reluctant
to try deleting my fit bit app since my fit bit is able to track the time
and my daily steps and I don't want to lose this functionality by deleting
and reinstalling the Window fit bit app. For now I will keep track of my
daily steps in a paper journal. Best regards,
Meridy
