I've had a Fitbit Inspire since Prime day this year and things have been awesome. Few little quirks and things to work out (restarting my phone often to continue having notifications and things like that.
However most recently I've run into a problem that is making using my device near impossible.
Recently when I press the button on the side to access the Fitbit (I have screen wake turned off) it will flash on for a second and then turn off. If I'm checking a notification it ends up wiping that notification, requiring me to then pull out my phone to check if it was an important notification from my phone or just a general notification from the fitbit itself (X number of steps to goal, hit a workout milestone etc etc).
I only ever press the side button once and sometimes need to go through the process numerous times of turning it on, it flashing on then off instantly again and again before I can actually see the watch face itself.
Not sure if something in the actual button is wearing down or something but it is making day to day use of the device extremely difficult.

@DEVIUM Welcome! It's great to see you around!
Let me help you with your Inspire button. You can clean the button area with cotton and rubbing alcohol. After this use compressed air at a distance to clear the area. Finally restart your device.
Let me know how it goes.

I have the same issue. The Inspire mistakes a single button press as a double. I wouldn't really care, except if I'm logging exercise it stops the logging instead of showing me my stats.

I've had the same exact issue for a couple months now! it's not a physical problem with the button, it's a software problem. Tapping the screen instead of using the button produces the same exact problem.
I've tried resetting my device quite a few times, restarting my phone, and clearing my user data on the Fitbit itself.
I'm going to try using a different clock face as someone suggested that might fix it, otherwise I'm not sure what else I can do.
Please update if there is a fix.

It's been 4 months still no fix =( sadly I think I may just have a defective unit since this problem doesn't seem to be that common, but it's not under warranty any more.
I was thinking of getting a Fitbit Charge but I can't trust Fitbit anymore

yup same here. Still having the same issue even with restarts, cleaning around the button itself, everything that anyone has suggested I try to do to fix the issue. Not sure where to go from here 😞

Hi there, tried to do this, it hasn't fixed the problem. I've tried each of these solutions (clean the button, use compressed air, and restarting) and none of these things have worked in any way to fix the issue. At this point not sure what to do

I tried everything as well, it was still under the one year warranty so I contacted Fitbit to initiate a return. They are going to send a replacement, hopefully it works better and continues working.

So i returned my Inspire HR as it was still under warranty. They sent me a new one and within 1 month it has the same issue. I guess it's just the way it "works."
With that, i cannot recommend this product to anyone anymore, hopefully their other watches are more reliable.

I'm having the same issue with my brand new Inspire HR (less than 3 weeks old). "Clean it with rubbing alcohol and reset it" is useless advice. Sometimes I have to press the button 5 or 6 times just to get the screen to stay on. If I get the "X number of steps to hit 250 this hour" notification, I couldn't tell you how many steps I need to do because as soon as I press the button to see the notification, the screen turns off. My Fitbit is brand new and it seems like a lot of people have the same issue. Please issue a fix.

I'm happy to say that the newest firmware update fixed this issue!!!
So far I have not had the problem happen on the new version ( version 34.20001.88.11)
It's so nice to have my Fitbit working properly again!
So to everyone experiencing this issue still, try updating your Fitbit device using the app to the latest version. Be patient because the update can take some time and might fall and re-try but it's worth it.

I actually continued to have issues, contacted support twice - first time suggested cleaning around the button with rubbing alcohol and blowing it out with compressed air. This did nothing. I contacted support again and they had me do a manual hard reset on the device to see if it would happen still.
Unfortunately it was still an issue. Luckily my device was under warranty still so was offered either a full replacement of the same device or a 50% off for a new device.
Opted for the 50% off a new device as I didn't want to risk having another device with the same issues.
Glad the newest firmware seemed to fix the issue for you though!!
