GPS map not found.

Hi. I have the Fitbit Inspire HR. I can’t for the life of me find the map of my walks. I’ve been to the trouble shooting guides, the forums, looked on both the app and the website and it’s not coming up anywhere. From what I gather, it should come up on the exercise  screen (I can’t seem to  attach a screen shot). Can you help me please.

Hello @Kiez, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums.

Thank you for providing all this information. Could you please confirm if you were able to connect your Inspire HR successfully to your phone's GPS? Your Inspire HR would use the GPS sensors in your phone (connected GPS) to capture the route, distance, and pace for your workout.

To use connected GPS:

1. Turn on Bluetooth and GPS on your phone.
2. Make sure the Fitbit app has permission to use GPS or location services.
3. Make sure connected GPS is enabled on Inspire HR (open the Settings app >
Phone GPS).
4. Follow the steps below to track an exercise. Keep your phone with you during
the workout.

For further information on how to allow the Fitbit app to user you phone's GPS, you can check this article as well.

Also, regarding your inquiry about the screenshot, you can follow these steps:

  1. Start a new post.
  2. Click the Insert Image button from the editor'€™s tool bar:
  3. Choose one of the image source options and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Your image should appear in the message once it has been posted.

I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

I'm having a similar problem.

My understanding is that initiating exercise recording of a walk from the Fitbit should give you a map of the route (providing all the settings for Bluetooth/GPS are correct).  No map is produced if the exercise is detected automatically by the Fitbit.

However, I have only had a map on a couple of occasions, the rest of the time - and certainly on all my recent walks - there has been no map.  I have been very careful to make sure I have set the Fitbit off/finished the session on esch occasion.

Am I missing something?

Still facing the same issue.

Have I understood this correctly? I assumed I would be able to run wearing my Fitbit and it would track the route. Are you saying I have to carry my phone on the run as well? That seems crazy!

This is what I'm trying to establish.  It is incredibly hit & miss.

It certainly looks as if it only maps the route if you have your phone for the GPS (& even then I've had problems - on a recent 18 mile bike ride the Inspire only recorded 0.3 miles though I did get a map of the whole route - have posted separately about that & still waiting for an explanation! 😕)

Hello, welcome to the Community forums @Pony1961 and thank you for all this information and feedback @AliB58.

Remember that it is required with the Inspire HR that you have your phone with you during the activity, so the Fitbit device can use your phone's GPS to track the route. Remember the Fitbit Inspire HR does not have a GPS integrated.

@AliB58, as you've mentioned, I noticed that  you're already being assisted in this other thread of the Community about the activities tracked using the Connected GPS feature. If you're getting any specific error message or you're activity is being interrupted, make sure to check the troubleshooting steps here as well.

Keep me posted.

the inspire does not have a gps in it. I’m not sure about the charge or the higher middle. This is not a Garmin. Research before you buy

I’m a new user. I had the map for my first 4 walks and then it disappeared. No settings changed. If you initiate exercise from the app you always get a map but no heart rate of course. From the Fitbit itself the map has strangely vanished after my 5th walk as I said. Also the voice coach is not active if I initiate from the bit but it is from the app same as coordinated music.

I am supremely frustrated by the same issue. It’s intermittent and no logic. I get the map for a few days and then nothing for a day or 2 or right now it’s been well over a week and no map. Nothing has changed in my phone or settings. I’m ready to chuck this FitBit Inspire HR

If you have an Android phone, tap and hold the Fitbit app from the home screen and tap app info, tap storage and from there you have to delete the data and buffer afterwards restart your phone. Now just log in again on the Fitbit- app. That's how it worked for me at least. I hope that will help

It’s a joke. I have an iPhone and have deleted and restarted and reset so many things so many times. Like i said it’s not consistent and I will get a map for a coupe days and then nothing for a few days, regardless of what I do. Too many people have the same issue which tells me it’s bad SW.
I’ve gone back to using Map My Walk which always works perfect. If I have to carry my phone with me anyway why not ? I can see my heart rate on my Bit if I want. I won’t be getting another

Sent from my iPhone
