GPS not working

Won’t track route with GPS or make

map of route when bicycling.

Fit bit not tracking with GPS when bicycling.  It will only track miles and make a map of route occasionally.  Can’t figure out what makes it work or not work.  Sometimes if I reset it it will work but not all the time.

Same issue here on my new HR inspire. 

When I select an exercise, and see the "Play" icon but I don't hit "Play" yet, it see "Connecting .... ". Sometimes it will eventually connect only to disconnect again. Sometimes it will ask me to start the fitbit app (it is already started). Sometimes I see notification on my phone that GPS is connected. But it clearly breaks afterwards and no map or miles are recorded.

On rare occasions it just works and I get a map of the exercise and everything which is fantastic. 

But more often than not just "Connecting...", wasting my time and getting v. frustrated.

The device has no problem at all with syncing data with my phone.

I've tried all the factory resetting / rebooting reinstalling you care to mention as per this forum.  No lasting joy.

Hello @jd2207 and a warm welcome.  What model phone do you use?  Sometimes the troubleshooting steps are different because the Android and iPhone apps have different requirements.  Please review this Help article.  There is a section for troubleshooting GPS problems.
