How do I remove all exercises from auto recognition?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Inspire HR exercise auto-recognition turns on at the most random of times...  eg it starts timing me when I'm working at my computer. It's driving me insane... I've turned off run, bike, elliptical etc But it won't let me turn off the interval timer. Ideally I'd like to remove the exercise app altogether. Can anyone help me?

Wishing my lovely old Alta HR had a button, instead of a whack to the screen to turn on the display (This is why I upgraded to the inspire... beginning to wonder if it was worth it? - I REALLY REALLY miss the rocket celebration too, sigh).

First let's try to clear up some terminology that is causing some confusion.

Auto-recognition (used to be called SmartTrack) is when your tracker thinks it recognizes a pattern of movement that continues at least the minimum time (15 minutes by default).  When that happens, it creates an exercise session for that activity.

The Exercise App is what is activated when you navigate to 'Exercise' on tracker screen, pick the exercise you are about to do from the Exercise Shortcuts, press or tap to start the exercise session, then again to end it.

Now I'm not sure which, or both, it is you want to eliminate. You say you have " turned off run, bike, elliptical etc".  Does that mean you have turned off all 7 exercises within auto-recognize?

The only place I know of an interval time is in "Interval Workout" as an Exercise Shortcut within the Exercise App.  If you are getting this, you must have gone through a series of screen swipes and taps to get there.

So do you know if you want to get rid of auto-recognition, exercise app, both, just "Interval Workout"?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I've turned off everything from the list that appears on the computer dashboard settings eg Run, bike, elliptical, weights etc. I want to be able to remove the exercise shortcuts... but it won't let me... so I've selected one shortcut, the lowest it allows me to select. That is the only thing that appears in my "exercise" section of my watch – and this is the thing that starts to record at the weirdest of times. I don't want my fitbit to record anything but my steps. I want to remove auto-recognition. I want to remove all shortcuts... and ideally the 'exercise 'section on my fitbit. Is this possible?

I do not understand why the fitbit is creating these odd exercises in my account. Today, I was working on a construction project at home - lots of activity and lots of movement, but the fitbit auto-identified my activity as three sessions of walking and two of biking...neither of which I did today, although I do both on occasion. I am not sure what the intent is or if it affects adversely (or complementary for that matter) especially as it reports activity to my WW app. I'm happy to have my swimming, kayaking, walking and biking properly recorded in my account, but this is just silly. When I go back to look over my records in a week or two - to see how my regimen is helping my fitness, I cannot be sure of anything I did. Moreover, I corrected an error in my fitbit record the other day, but since that activity was already sent over to WW, when I corrected it, it errantly sent over a second activity that definitely double-counted my activity. Can we turn off activity auto-recognition and just select steps?
